I'm going to vent here a little bit...
I have a 2022 Durango Gold 356RLQ that I bought new in SEP of last year. Due to construction at my home, I put the camper into a covered storage facility nearby and it was kept connected to shore power for the several months that I had to keep it there. When we finally finished the project, my wife and I took it on it's first trip in March. During the trip, one of the awnings failed to extend; the refrigerator messed up (left door was too low and set off an error code); trim pieces fell off in areas of the camper; tank level gauges were horribly inaccurate; kitchen slide was leaving a sticky black residue on the floor; etc.. I was not thrilled but chalked it up to life in a camper. Took it to the dealer for warranty work and they kept it for a few weeks while they submitted the warranty paperwork. I got the camper back a week before our next trip to South Dakota and Montana and proceeded to give it a good pre-trip cleaning. I have 50 amp service at the house and I hooked it up and got started. The rear bay window leaked pretty badly during the wash. My wife noticed a lot of water in the refrigerator and I began to investigate. The dealer put a new door on the left side of the fridge that has a flap that rotates into position so the right door can close against it. It was inoperable due to hitting the floor of the fridge and jamming. Youtube saved the day with the fix as this is apparently common on Norcold refrigerators. I had to remove the door and use a 3/16 washer to lift it so the flap would operate and seal the door. Shoddy work from the dealer. I'll deal with that next week.
We had to cut our trip short when the toilet stopped functioning completely. I have no idea what the issue is but the pipe that goes from the commode to the tank is fouled and the "material" will not go into the tank. I have snaked it and used a pressure cleaner for black tanks on it with no luck. I snaked the vent tube from the roof and was able to run it all the way to the tank and it came up with "debris" from the tank on it. I can run the snake through the stoppage to the tank but it will not clear. When I use the built in flusher for the tank, water flows out crystal clear. I have filled the tank, using the flusher, and driven hundreds of miles letting it slosh around and the water comes out clear. Drained it and refilled and drove more with no luck. Any ideas? It's going back to the dealer ASAP. The awning they repaired does not work and more trim has fallen off. The mirror in the bathroom is coming loose and it sounds like it's mounted with double edged tape. I not a happy camper.
Long story short...I have concerns about the quality of the construction of my new camper. My wife and I don't trust it right now. Is this common post pandemic? I researched the KZ product and it came back as one of the best constructed campers out there. Did the interwebs bite me? I might be mistaken or deluded but am I out of line expecting more after paying 80K for a camper? Input is appreciated.
