Can anyone tell me if my KZ Sportsman ClassicMB170 is a gas only water heater? / how can you tell?

First of all, we need the year, make and model number of the water heater. If you have that info, you can search for it or go to the water heater manufactures website.

Look up the brand and model number of the water heater as mentioned above. The brand and model of the trailer means nothing.

A quick check would be to see if you have a breaker marked WH or water heater. No breaker it’s a good chance it’s gas only.

Both of these are electronic ignition Gas Only Gas Electric

I look in my switch panel and see water heater gas water & heater electric, both for rapid recovery.

The gas/electric model also has a switch on the water heater near the element. The specs for your trailer shows only gas. Water Heater Cap. (Gal. LP w/DSI) 6
