Looking at flushing out the black tank, has anyone used the blue hose from the outside connection and hooked it up to the black flush connector. Looks like it would make it very easy to flush the tank you could also use hot water if you wanted. Just not sure if this would cause any sanitation issues. I have not tried this just showing the connection.

IMO, if you have a city water connection, you'd be much better off as it would likely have much better pressure. Now, if you're just wanting to drain your fresh water tank, that's not a bad idea, though I'd probably add some sort of a back-flow valve (Yes, I know there's =supposed= to be one on the flush already, but do you =really= trust any mfr, these days?) on the blue hose, or simply use the same hose you use for flushing. You =do= use separate hoses for city water connection and flushing, don't you?

I agree you would need the extra backflow preventer. Yes, I use a separate hose I was just curious if anyone used this method to flush the tank. But maybe as you said it doesn't provide enough pressure. Why I asked before attempting it. With my old camper I had to drag a hose inside and drop it into the tank. This is the first camper that I have had that has this option. My old camper was a 2008 Rockwood.

I have used that method, yes. The pressure isn't as great as a regular hose hookup, but it is being directed at a spray nozzle so I'm not sure that it makes that much of a difference.
I also use that method to winterize the flush line with antifreeze and then I leave it hooked up all winter. You want to run regular water through it in the spring prior to unhooking the hose because all the water in the line up to the backflow preventer will spray back out at you.
The line from the inlet should go straight up. Mine comes up inside the bathroom sink, goes horizontal to a backflow preventer and then straight back down to the blank tank. I trust the backflow preventer and am not worried about contamination since the flush line is well above the black tank.

Thanks John R, I checked mine out it is a 2023 D290RLT the line is behind the bathroom sink as well. The back flow valve is a good 18" above the tank then the line going straight down into the tank. I think this is an easy and viable option if a person so choses to use it.

I have used the outside faucet / hose to flush the black tank, seems to work Ok. I also checked out my backflow arrangement, and it's quite a bit above the tank level, so not worried about cross contamination.

add another that uses the outside shower to flush the tank. It's hook all the time unless my dog needs a bath, makes flushing really easy when on city water.
