The whole story is in the connect section but was wondering has anyone sent their trailer back to kz for them to replace the deck? The dealer said the would be removing all the walls off the frame to do the work. I am just worried about getting it back and it fall apart within a year.
Ant thoughts?
Thanks

Never had the misfortune of this happening to us but you would think KZ would just replace the unit with another and deal with the failed construction at their plant. It would be a teachable moment for their assembly crew of what not to do. Have they said what the timeline would be? I wonder if they have a dedicated repair facility?

I wonder if they have a dedicated repair facility? Yes they do, it is/was a much more skilled area than the production lines.

Right now they cant take it back until June/July time frame so they will allow us to use it for the summer and drop at the dealer in the fall. The dealer will winterize it and ship it to the factory where it will be there for about 3 months so I should have it back early spring next year. I just worried that if I get it back and at this point the structure warrantee is over if I have a issue with the work they did I am SOL..
To replace the deck the whole unit has to come apart, wont the holes already made be weak and how do they make sure its sealed. I am still in limbo because this was told to me late yesterday and still waiting for dealer to finish the write up and then have us come get it and go over everything.

I had to take my 358RPQ back to service center. They were very thorough when taking out the slide and rebuilding. You are in good hands when you take it there. If there is anything else you want done, just ask them. They are very accommodating. Don’t worry about a thing😎

Thanks How TF can this be more cost-effective than simply replacing the POS that they sent out the factory door? Hell, the bad press is likely going to cost KZ a few sales, which also has to be figured into the cost to the company. Stepping up and simply replacing the POS unit might =make= sales based on the goodwill shown. Lyle

Lyle Sounds like they’re doing it this way as KZ or the dealer does not want to be “stuck” with a rebuilt trailer if it doesn’t sell. It’s the not knowing whether it will be done right, and maybe just maybe it will be perfect after. I’m sure you’re better off it’s going to KZ than a dealer. Still sucks!

They could simply rebuild it and sell it to a liquidator as-is and =still= most likely break even on it. Lyle

Yea I just wish they would give me a new one. Each time we pull it the floor gets worse, we don't even think it will make the session. You can actually see the main floor bow up and now rubs on the slide. The dealer and campground we use are less than 30 miles from our house. The floor issues started when we took it to Hershey last year for the show, but that under 150 miles from my house. This unit has the "off road" package and is to be build for going off pavement, it cant even stay together when its only on pavement. They forgot to do something when build this unit.

I was told the axles, springs and frame we built stronger. It also comes with Wrangler LT tires. Now I think it was just put the tires on and call it a "off road" package

I have to agree with another poster above. Why wouldn’t KZ just give you a new camper? The extra time and money to repair this seems ridiculous. They could build many new campers in the time it will take them to remove everything and repair this camper. What PR staff and accounting department would think this is a good idea? Might be time to call an attorney. As a former small business owner sometimes you just suck it up and do the right thing. Best of luck to you.

the service / repair facility is completely different than the manufacturing area,, its not like thay are going to stop the production line to fix this, so it does not slow production down at all
