Last week, while camping in freezing weather, I had the opportunity to use our furnace on our 2022 256RKT for the first time. At the 3:00 am I find the furnace is not working and it turns out the regulator (Enerco N17 01 Model 6950) was not flowing propane through one of the hoses. Later, I find that one of the tanks is leaking propane through the safety valve. Now that too will need to be replaced. I’ve tried to reach KZ CS via telephone, left messages and sent emails but no response. This was not the customer service we were getting a year ago from KZ. The good, we like our unit and wish the KZ customer service would improve.

Last August we were in North Dakota, middle of nowhere pretty much. Closest "authorized" RV dealer was 100 miles away. We're full time, and have our sites pre paid as much as possible, or reservations far in advanced. Our regulator acquired a major leak, could not use any propane at all.
Funny thing is, there was a mobile repair guy 2 sites down from us, he came by and looked at it. He said the regulator KZ used was crap. Said to call them and see if they will let him replace it. KZ told us they won't authorize a mobile repair, but will pay 1/2 of the cost of the new regulator the repair guy was going to use. Cost us $180.00, we got back from KZ $37.00 fpr the bad regulator.
We've had the underbelly cover rip off going down the road, not covered. (3 screws holding it to the frame, got ripped off in the wind). GLASS shower door, BROKE. Won't cover it because we couldn't get to a dealer. (Replaced it with a retractable plastic door, best thing ever). Bathroom faucet, won't cover the cost for ME to replace it because we can't get to a dealer.
Our rig was meant for full timers like us, yet KZ does NOT realize how HARD it is for full timers to just pack up, head to the dealer, and let our unit SIT for weeks or months! This is our HOME, not a weekend party van.

jetsen, just to be clear, propane pressure regulators lower the pressure of the propane vapor that comes out of the tank. The changing(vaporization) from liquid to vapor occurs in the tank.

Can you give the spot in your link that supports your claim? To the contrary, your link clearly shows that vapor leaves the tank, not liquid propane. At 0:16 in the video the outlet of the tank is clearly labeled "Vapor". At about 3:40, he talks about how the "pressure of the vapor" works in the regulator. At 5:27 he warns to never overfill the tank as liquid propane could then enter the regulator, and if this occurs the regulator should be replaced. Propane gas vapor comes from the outlet of the tank, not liquid propane. www.rv.com/archive/the-abcs-of-lpg-understanding-lp-gas-and-propane-systems-in-rvs/ - "... the service valve on top is opened, the liquid propane boils and exits the cylinder as a vapor..." Take a propane tank outside and crack the valve. Let me know if you see any liquid propane expelled.

Sure, you said "... only turns into a gas/vapor after it leaves the tank, No transformation, vaporization or atomization occurs "in the tank"". If not in the tank, then in the regulator which will damage it. Again, the liquid propane boils "in the tank" becoming propane gas: www.rv.com/archive/the-abcs-of-lpg-understanding-lp-gas-and-propane-systems-in-rvs/ - "... the service valve on top is opened, the liquid propane boils and exits the cylinder as a vapor..." www.loganslogs.com/how-does-lpg-propane-turn-from-liquid-to-gas/- "LPG liquid boils and turns back into gas vapour when you release some of the pressure in the gas bottle by turning on your gas appliance." mbsturgis.com/news/propane-gas-facts/ - "A propane tank that is filled to 80% will have an output port with a shutoff valve that accesses the very top of the tank, where the gas is." www.uhaul.com/Tips/Propane/Whats-Inside-A-Propane-Tank-16708/ - "When you open the valve on your tank, the internal pressure drops and the propane is exposed to outside temperatures. This causes the liquid to boil and vaporize, creating propane gas." ... There is no dip tube into the bottom of the tank to bring liquid propane to the outlet. The top of the tank contains gas, and the bottom liquid propane until the liquid is completely boiled off. The gas is extracted when you open the valve on the tank.

At 5:49 of the video it is clearly stated the propane is stored and transported as a liquid. And the link that you provided states the same. Only after the propane exits the tank does it turn into a vapor. You would be 100% wrong about that I am afraid. I could add more and more references to the fact that the liquid boils off in the tank if needed.

Honestly I had forgotten that part of the equation and thank you for bringing it forward. When I commented to the OP my mind was leaning towards a frozen regulator rather than a defective regulator.

We had the regulator replaced under warranty last summer and this winter the replacement quit working. The original was better than the replacement. I went to Camping World and bought one there, too much of a hassle to deal with KZ.

After reading the various reports of disasters and warrantee struggles, I went on line and bought a regulator and installed it. No hassle, no strain and while it has been longer than I can recall the price, it seems it was in the hundred dollar range. No leaks and I'm satisfied... I'm a tinkerer by nature and this was simply another project for me to do. YMMV.

I got mine replaced last May. Absolutely no issue with supply or the dealer who took care of it.
