Hello All: I've been wanting to put a slide topper on my 2015 KZ Sportster 5th wheel. It didn't come with one and when I contacted the company about adding one they advised there wasn't any structure installed in the wall to support it. There is a bracket installed on the wall to keep water from running down onto the seal, I guess?
l've replaced 1 seal on the slide side after noticing some moisture around the frame. This seemed to work and no issues since, however recently noticed some water on teh floor after leaving the slide out during a rainy day. It's the rear corner this time and cannot find any noticeable issues with the seals inplace. Maybe water ran next to the slide seal and seeped in there, idk.
Past campers have all had topper with no issues; easier to keep the slide top clean and dry too.
I purchased a topper right after the camper purchase, before contacting KZ for advice on installing; cart before the horse is my MO! From their response I backed off of installing until now.
What I plan to do is reinforce the outside wall bracket with board or fender washers putting bolts thru the wall to tie it all together. Sealant will be applied to all the thru bolts of course! I don't see this as an issue as there are several holes thru the walls now for water, electric, shower, etc.
Any concerns or suggestions would be appreciated!
thanks!

I actually got the factory blueprints for mine and found that there was indeed no reasonable framing to use. It wouldn't hurt to ask for prints, maybe you'll get lucky. What I did find was that the little gutter above the slide was leaking because it was never installed properly, I redid that with stainless screws and caulking tape in the right place.
