My Samsung residential fridge died 2 years ago. It is not fixable according to repair men. Problem is it is stuck in my 2016 KZ Durango 325 5th wheel. Appliance movers tried everything to get it out the front door. Dismantled and all the angles are off and it is 1/2” too big. So I have been using a mini fridge for two years…. please help, as this is my residence currently…
Thank you in advance!

Can you take out a large window and take it out with it lying down?

I have the Norcold 18cuf and I was told by a KZ tech the only way to get it our was to pull the slide.

If you have an 18 cuft Samsung french door refer with a freezer on the bottom with a 30" entry door in the trailer you will need to take the doors off the refer and the freezer drawer out in order to get it through the entry door of the trailer. If you have a 28" entry door on the trailer you will need to remove the dining room window and take it out that way.

This is where the manufacturers engineers need to think about this type of problem and accommodate a way to remove these large items without destroying the RV. people buying RV's and trailers need to realize this also. A large refrigerator is a nice option until it breaks. Years ago I toured one of the manufacturers and saw them putting everything inside before the walls were finished. Your RV will probably outlast that refrig. Appliances are basically a throw away item when it fails. I have a neighbor who has a brand new Samsung in his house 'repaired' four times in 2 years, and then was told it could not be fixed.

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a "Saws all" reciprocating saw with metal cutting blade (about $30.00). Cut fridge into manageable pieces. pay close attention to dimensions of replacement fridge or simply embrace the new pantry/closet project. P.S. protect floor from metal shavings.

I thought of doing something similar; or just getting a BFH* and going to town!
A second thought, though - how do you get back in a similarly-sized replacement fridge, if that's what you'd want to do?

Buy one that fits or two small ones. The other option is to build a scaffold to remove the slide whenever a refrigerator needs installed, replaced or repaired.

I second the "Sawzall" reciprocating saw solution with this caveat: buy a good Milwaukee metal cutting or "Ax" blade instead of one that would come with a cheap (harbor freight) version.

I would get my 'Sawzall' in a New York Flash!! Subdivide and Conquer!!! And, as mentioned, plan ahead to ease cleanup. You will wonder why you waited so long..... :-) :-)

what Tightwadted said: cheap saws all is ok BUT get a quality metal cutting blade! (or 3)

If thats how you decide to go this will be way better than a saws all, battery or 110V.

What about the freon in the fridge? Not sure cutting the cooling lines/panels in an enclosed space is the healthiest thing to do.
