I own a 2011 1500 D275RE Durango 5th wheel and am wondering if anybody else has experienced this problem. The DWV air vent for the gray water system is located in a basement storage area. This makes it lower than any drain in the trailer. If the gray water tank files up, water starts coming out of the air vent. This makes a real mess and will lead to more serious problems if not contained. As we all know, the gauges showing how full the tanks are, are notoriously unreliable so there is no want to know when the gray water tank is full. On our previous camper, if the gray water tank was full, we would just experience a backup in the shower (the lowest drain). What I am trying to understand is, is our DWV air vent defective or is it functioning as intended. I don't for the life of me know why you would design a vent system that allows water to escape into an enclosed area? Seems to me the venting should go up thru the roof. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Look under the shower for a broken fitting. The shower may not be supported well flexing the plumbing and cracking it.

It is not coming from the shower drain. I have observed water coming out of the DWV air vent.
