I was camping last weekend and lost power to ac and Refrigerator. Then my 12v system went dead. I hooked up and drove home and my 12v charged but wont with shore power. I haven't had time to use a multi meter to see if its bad. If i need a new converter would it be better to put a 55 or 75amp converter? Found them cheaper than the 30amp.

It is OK to go larger but you need to check wire size between the converter and battery. The manufacturer of the converter may have the minimum size required in their instructions. You want very little voltage drop so the wire size will be much larger than you might think.

Okay thanks. Would going up to like 45amp help with when ac kicks on the box fan slows down?

It is likely that you just blew the fuse on the converter. Hard to tell what is up with the loss of the 120V power. Maybe main breaker blew.
Upping the converter above 30 amps will not help with AC motor loads "slowing down". It would likely just make it worse at times when the battery is low and being charged at high amps. The converter is used to supply 12V to the coach and to charge the battery(s). Increasing the amp rating of the converter could use more 120V to charge the battery and thus cause worse voltage drop in the coach 120V AC system.
If you do need a new convertor I could send you one with low miles for cheap if you have lead acid batteries. When I moved to lithium batteries the converters that are designed to charge lithium batteries were more money than just buying a quality battery charger. So, I just replaced mine with a Victron battery charger for $200 and wired that in the place of the convertor.

I lost my ac and my fridge and all 12v. What i have found when i got home everything worked because my vehicle charged it. Without 12v my fridge and ac wont work. Dont understand that one.

I took my converter out plugged up to the house and hooked battery charger up. Everything works. There is a burnt spot on the converter. Im ordering a 55amp to replace the 30amp. My camper has always had when my ac came on it would bog down the box fan. Hopping the bigger converter will fix that.

The WFCO converters are of low quality, I should have mentioned this in my first reply. If it isn't too late, contact Best Converters for something much better.

I Took your advice. I had ordered a WFCO sent it back. Just got my Progressive Dynamics one today. It is so much better built.

It's because they have circuit boards that require 12v and they pull that voltage from the battery side instead of having an on-board transformer. Lyle
