Has anyone changed their stairs to the bedroom from a two step to a three step. We’re finding the mismatched 9” and 10 3/4” rise is too much and thought about changing them to a three step with a 6.5” rise on each of the steps. This is for our 2021 D250RES

Looks good. I laid out some planks to test the three step and it sure makes a difference. I picked up some laminated pine planks to make the steps today. I think I’m going to make two boxes to put in place. My lower riser has the carbon monoxide detector so I have to leave that riser open or re-position it. Leaving it open you can always put shoes under there. I have leftover carpet tile from another project I may just cover the steps with.

Got them stained. Once they’re completely dry I’ll add a satin urethane finish. My wife says they’ll be slippery so I going to add a tread grip strip to them.
