I've replaced the lead acid battery on my 160RBT with a lithium battery. I understand that charging from my tow vehicle alternator while driving is a bad idea. Can I simply disconnect the 12v accessory wire that comes in to the trailer on the 7-pin trailer connector? My previous tow vehicle did not provide 12v accessory and it didn't cause any issues that I'm aware of. In fact I accidentally pulled the breakaway cable and the trailer brakes locked up. So I'm assuming removing the wire will be fine. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Greg Crawford

That is exactly what i did, a year ago, and everything is fine, disconnect at the junction box of the trailer and cap the line, that way if someone else pulls your trailer, it won't hurt their alternator, and you can pull someone elses trailer and charge their SLA batteries, if needed.

Thanks, I thought it would work but it's good to hear confirmation from someone else that's done it.

The charge wire is not going to harm the battery(s)it made to charge the RV while driving. Keeps things running, fan, fridge, heater that need the 12V. How long does your RV set unplugged? Mines always plugged in at home, the truck or RV park and only issue was the cheapo from new died in 4 years.
