Hi, wonder if I am doing this correctly. Been to the CAT scale for the numbers. All are good except the GVWR.
From the Door/manual ..Ram 1500 V8
Front axle 3900 Rear axle 3900 GVWR 6900 GCVWR 14400 Trailer axle ...... max 3500
CAT Scale results,
Front 3278......good Rear 3652...... good TRAILER 3500.. good
GVWR A PLUS BE ABOVE 6930.... 30 above ?? GVCWR 10362..good
Really when all the numbers are in spec, how can I be over the GVWR??
Help.

You need to know payload of truck. It will be on the door or the door jamb with tire ratings. A friend of mine has an 08 Ram 1500 and payload is lower compared to my 13 Silverado 1500 I had. It sounds like your payload capacity is low or you’ve added heavy accessories to your truck thus reducing payload capacity. Tongue weight could be heavy too. Have you weighed truck unhitched to compare with hitched up?

Thanks for the reply. Tbe payload is 1450, that's what I was working with when I set the rig up. I used 400 pounds for my wife and myself and our goodies, hand bags etc. Dry tongue weight is 400 pounds, per sticker. With the tongue weight scale and 2 gas bottles and batteries, it comes in at 600. I have a small 50 pound generator and odds, say 200 pounds max. All add up to 1200. Plus the Blue Ox hitch 100 pounds, equals 1300. I used luggage scale and a bathroom scale to verify weights and rounded them off.
Therefore payload is under the 1450. MAYBE I HAVE TO ADD IN GASS WEIGHT..FULL TANK?. Front and rear axles are under the allowd limit as mentioned Trailer axle is good Trailer weight is way below allowed towable weight of 8000 pounds at 3500.
How can a half ton be to small a tow vehicle for a 3500 pound trailer, 2 adults and minimum items in it. Seems odd to me.
I must be doing something incorrectly.

Your trailer axle weight doesn’t seem right for the trailer GVW. My TT I used to have had a GVW of 7912 lbs. I had scaled it at around 6300 pounds of axle weight loaded. Tongue weight scaled was just over 800 lbs. it was not a Cat scale but a highways dept scale.
