We bought a new 2021 KZ Connect SE in January of 2022. When I first heard about the regulator recall a few months ago I figured if I didn't get a recall letter there was probably nothing to worry about. Then recently I saw something on tv about the propane regulator recall and it included a listing of some of the models effected. The more I thought about catching on fire, the more I wondered about our unit. I did a little more research looked at our regulator, and it did appear to be one of the models on the list. I called KZ customer service and the person I spoke with asked me if I got a recall letter. I told him that I had not received anything yet. Then I told him the model numbers on our regulator and he quickly determined that even though we hadn't received a letter yet ours probably was on the list. He asked me to email him a photo of the date stamp so that he could verify it was one of the regulators recalled. Then he asked if I wanted the dealer I purchased our trailer from to replace it, or would I be willing to do it myself. Since our dealer is over 35 miles one-way, and gas is now $4.50 per gallon, I said I would replace it myself. A few days later UPS dropped off our new regulator and hoses. A week after that my wife received a letter from KZ notifying us that our unit was in fact part of the recall and that they now had regulators available to ship. I do want to thank the people in customer service for responding so quickly. Once I emailed them the photo of our old regulator the new one was on our doorstep within just a few days. I also want to tell the rest of you KZ owners, just because you may not have received a letter yet, it doesn't mean you're not affected. Take a few minutes and check yours out. Here are a couple links I found with a little more info about the recall. www.rvtravel.com/kzrv-rv-issues-huge-recall-failed-propane-regulator-fire/#:~:text=Altogether%2C%20125%20different%20KZRV%20products%20are%20involved%20in%20the%20recall.&text=Dealers%20will%20replace%20the%20regulator,800%2D768%2D4016%20ext. www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls/kzrv-recalls-rvs-with-winntec-propane-regulators-092821.htmlTake Care

Our local dealer (also about 40 miles away so GA$$$$) -- said they haven't been able to get any propane regulators at all. Maybe supplies are starting to open up. We are near Knoxville TN, and that is where the dealer is...

Good news.. I contacted KZ CUSTOMER SERVICE.They told me to take a picture of the numbers on the side of the regulator and send the pic via email and they will compete the paper work and send ME the LP Gas regulator. Two days later I have the regulator and it's installed. Thank you KZ Gentry McConnell, CUSTOMER SERVICE.

about two weeks ago contacted KZ about shipping replacement regulator for my 2019 sportsmen 270 THLE. KZ said take pictures of serial number and mfg date and email to KZ. next day recieved email from KZ stating my regulator was not included in recall. Dont know if that is good or bad news. will probably change out regulator myself for safety. Only use gas during winter for furnace set to 65 deg as backup when electric heater is off during night.

Dont know if that is good or bad news. will probably change out regulator myself for safety. Only use gas during winter for furnace set to 65 deg as backup when electric heater is off during night. I had the same problem. Reading the NHTSA report, my regulator had the date code included in the recall. KZ then said the same thing. This went on for months trying to get a regulator. I kept contacting KZ and they then said that even though the date code was in range, my trailer was built before the recalled regulators were being used and they would not cover the cost. At least 15 emails and phone calls to Crystal Thoma did no good. Our dealer had the same problem with her. I finally found a Marshal Excelsior regulator at our local propane supplier. My dealer did check the original regulator and said it was working fine, but to keep the replacement just in case.
BTW, she said they could not get any regulators for replacement. I asked her how they were selling trailers without regulators and she said they had them for new trailers but not for the recall. REALLY!

By the time I heard about the recall, it didn't really matter since my 2018 KZ trailer burned to the ground in November 2021. The cause was deemed to be too much pressure to the refrigerator. This would seem to indicate the main regulator was not working properly but KZ said there was no proof of that. Ce la vis. GD

I realize this is a late response, but if the regulator survived the fire and you could still read the date code, you may still be able to file a lawsuit against them. The recall notice was filed 8/21. 4 months before your fire. You should have been notified

I am taking my Unit in this Saturday. Optimum RV in Ocala FL. They would not let me change it myself. I should have thought to call KZ customer service to see if they would have sent me one. At first, they would not make a Saturday appointment. Well for the fuel to drive and taking a day off from work, I would buy a new one and change it myself. Well, I finally talked them into a Sat appointment. Let's see how it goes. By the way, I did get 2 mail notifications for the recall. 326RLT.
