The wife and I purchased a new to us 2011 Classic 14RB last Friday. Being older than dirt the family thought the Trailmanor was too much for me to handle setting up so I humored them and sold it. My crafty plan was to purchase a stronger truck and get something a little bigger. Got the truck under some false pretenses and started slyly looking around for a bigger trailer when I ran into the little RB. The person that had it bought it brand new and set it on his property where he and his wife could stay whenever they checked on the construction of their new home. They only moved it one time for five days down to the coast the entire time it was owned. I looked around it plus the inside and was so thoroughly impressed I went home grabbed the wife so she could look at it and we basically purchased it on the spot for a great price. Everything in it we would need to camp or travel in. The down side is we now have a truck that is a bit more powerful than needed. I didn't even feel it behind me on the way home. Think I outsmarted myself on that truck purchase. Anyway that's my story and I'm sticking to it! Happy to be aboard and hope we can contribute to the forum as we go along.

If you are talking about the F-150, then you really have the correct truck.

If you are talking about the F-150, then you really have the correct truck. I had the correct truck before for pulling this size trailer but was planning on something bigger which is why I went to the Ford with a bigger cubic inch engine than the truck we had. Found this 14b trailer which is more than doable which brings up the question of what does a person really do get either a truck (car-Suv) or a trailer first? Something like what came first the chicken or the egg. Bob

Welcome, glad to have you aboard. It is better to have more truck then you need then more trailer then your truck can handle.

Some of us don't want the minimum tires, payload, brakes and engine. The equation would have safety, then usefulness, followed by gas mileage.

This is not my first rodeo pulling a trailer. If you take my posts in context I was simply saying that the F-150 TV I bought was more than I needed because my other truck would have pulled it fine and have better gas mileage(not a lot but better) also. I was originally going to get a bigger one than the 18ft TT I sold so yes believe it or not I did not in hindsight have to get this truck as I actually downsized. If you are insinuating I do a minimum on anything concerning safety pulling a TT then let me assure you that your way off base. That being said it's a dead horse and should be dropped. Onto the next topic!

LOL. Following this topic reminds me of how I ended up with what I have now. Had an Isuzu Trooper, bought a popup camper. Weak. Traded Trooper for Chevy 1/2 ton, one of the older ones with a weak 350, but it pulled the popup ok. Traded the popup for a small pull behind with a small slide out. Truck now not enough, so traded it up for a newer GMC 1/2 ton. Now got plenty of truck for the camper, but we decide we needed a bigger camper again. Bought a 2004 GMC DMax. Now too plenty truck, so traded the pull behind for our Durango. Now I think we're about even, enough truck and plenty camper (or as my friends like to call it, our mobile apartment). If we have to upgrade again, I'm in BIG trouble! LOL.

When you are almost seventy your sense of how many years left trailering start becoming more of a reality. I already told the daughter they are going to have to put a ramp into their trailer at the appropriate time. In the meantime there is a whole big country to see. Bob

I'm new to the KZ family. Just purchased a Sportsmen Showstopper 2013. Haven't gotten to take it out yet. Can't wait. Still loading and fixin stuff to our preference. Trying to figure out how to secure the wall mount TVs from bouncing when traveling. We installed them ourselves, since we already had them. Already had the mounts also. Looks like and I bolts and bungee cords. The TVs before set on shelves. Have been camping on and off for years. Hopefully more since I've retired. Ready to try out my new RV. Reading comments about RV and tow vehicle, was close to home. I decided I wanted to get back into camping. My plan was to purchase a pop-up for my Pacifica. No new cars. Lol. Well the used pop-up was a head ache. Top wouldn't raise sometime. Couldn't get a clear title, etc. SO, that meant getting a larger tow vehicle and a larger RV. Ended up with a Tahoe and a Outback. Had that for 2 1/2 yrs. really liked it, but had a manual slide out and the air conditioner started going out. Now I have a brand new Sportsmen and everything is electric. I'm an older camper also, so this helps. Hope to enjoys many years of camping.

Before getting our TT we traveled with my Cousin in a fifth wheel and he would take his TV off the mount put it on the bed face down and cinch (ratchet) strap it. He had hardware on either side of the bed that he put the strap hooks into before drawing it tight. Hope that helps a little. PS. He also put the pillows on either side of the TV.. Bob

I don't think removing the TV is an option for me. I usually camp with other females. Removing and reattaching the TVs is heavy/awkward, kinda. I'd rather try to strap them secure. I will try to figure something else out. I still think maybe a 'eye' bolt and a belt or something. Just need it NOT to bounce and stretch the arms out. Might pull it from wall or hit cabinets and break. Dont want that to happen, for Sure. Thanks for your response, though. Mr Diddly-do-N
