I have made it clear in multi RV forums how I dislike the "new" Solid Step that fold into your RV and dumps all the dirt etc inside and I've said it would be a deal breaker for me. I do like the solid step getting in & out. I have used lego blocks and recently I tried the solid stance step stabilizer. That worked but I had to remove it for travel, the steps could not be folded with it on. It took a bit of time to install/remove the 4 bolts I used to attach this support and I had to kneel on the ground, store the loose bolts, so it worked but not easy.
I found a better way the Revolution Glow steps , I got a set of the steps and installed them on my Durango. They came shipped in a couple boxes and they looked like they had been to war, the contents lived with no damage so the packaging saved the contents. The install was very simple, removed 4 bolts and the 4 aluminum came off, the Glow step used the same holes as the OEM aluminum steps. They sent bolts with the steps for the install but I reused the old carriage bolt so I only needed to hold one side. I found it was easier with two people one to hold the steps and one tightening bolts. To order they needed the door width and the distance door sill to the ground (42" on mine) they sent 5 steps to replace my 4. I have been out one time with the new steps and they are rock solid, the bounce of the old aluminum is gone. The steps look good, fold easy and are as solid as my sticks & bricks. Another mod to the old KZ and loving it, here is a link to the new steps: steps link.

I added the hand rail to mine and the wife really loves it. I had a little trouble installing mine because the step box was not centered in the opening so I had to modify things a little bit.

Did you do the steps also? I found mine are not quite level in the box, cosmetic only the steps work as advertised, no bounce like we had with the OEM.

Yes, I put them on a couple seasons ago. I saved the old steps because I plan on taking these with me when I get a new RV. Hopefully they fit or I'll re-sell them myself.
Do you like the shoe cleaner?

Do you like the shoe cleaner? I do. I'm on my second trip with them and just got back after dark and the "glow" works great. I didn't get them on the first notch when I first setup and they were at a strange tilt until i raised them up. I also saved the old steps and these will move to the next also. They are so much better than the OEM, wish I had found these years ago.

OK I got the handrail and I have had it for several weeks, the written directions suck. I used the pictures to figure out as the written made no sense to me. I got it installed before wife has knee surgery next week.
It is stable and is held on with 3 quick releases. I put the upper rail below the factory and there is metal framing under it. The rail attachments have an octagon hole that is useless, I drilled pilot holes and used self tapping screws to attach the upper rail. The vertical sets in a bracket attacked to the side of the steps. I was able to locate the rail to the slide through the J skirting and backed it up with metal on the back side. I marked my drill holes with a awl, a small tap gave me pin makes to drill my holes. The rail will be put to use in the next weeks as she heals. The white strips are glow in the dark and should be of help nights.

Looking for solid steps that don't dump the dirt, water & snow inside? These glow steps fit the bill, solid and the dirt stays outside.
