I would be interested to hear what KZ may have recommended for wheel bearing grease at some of the past rallies. Additionally, I would be interested to hear what some of you have used with success. I did try a search but wasn't very successful.

Below is the basic specs from the Dexter Axle Service Manual, your coach may have Lippert axles, but for me, bearing loads are bearing loads despite who made the axle. My opinion is as long as you follow the specifications below and use a grease from a quality company you will be fine. Key is you clean all of the old grease out of the bearings as some greases are not compatible & by cleaning the bearings you give them a good inspection. As I never seem to be able to find the same brand / type of grease from year to year, I end up switching greases, so I have used Lucas Red and Tacky Wheel bearing grease to most recently Valvoline Cerulean High Temp Multi Purpose Grease. Both with lots of miles between bearing services and no failures. Whatever you do, don't fall for the EZ-Lube trap and think that pumping a few shots of grease into the grease zerk at the end of the spindle relives you from bearing service, what that usually does is contaminate your brakes with grease. Your hubs do not consume grease, so adding grease doesn't top them off or anything like that. If you have a bearing starting to fail, fresh grease does not "heal" the bearing.

Thanks for your response. My research to date has led me to these pieces of information: It seems Dexter hubs require a Lithium based grease, with Lippert hubs using a polyurea based grease. The two are incompatible, resulting in the grease drying according to the information I read on machinerylubrication.com. It is interesting that etrailer.com recommends LubriMatic Disc/Drum Brake and Wheel Bearing Grease, # L11465, or # L11380, a polyurea based grease for Dexter hubs. My point is simply it requires a person to do a significant amount of research until you are comfortable you have selected the correct grease.
I haven't really looked yet, are the axles/hubs plainly marked regarding who they're made by?

Yes, there will be a tag on the axle listing the MFG as well as the capacity, SN and other technical tidbits. In regard to the grease, as long as you clean all of the previous grease out of the bearings you can use either grease as both use tapered roller bearings that are common, no tricky metallurgy there. Even Timken sells grease (specs below) the main point is it follows the basic specs- mainly the temperature, as these hubs will get warm.
Design Attributes: NLGI GC-LB certified. Features an NLGI No. 2 lithium-complex thickener that resists softening and provides the mechanical stability required for demanding applications. Corrosion inhibitors, anti-wear additives, water-resistant additives for extra protection. Wide operating temperature range -40º F to 300º F (-40º C to 149º C). 55 lbs. rating offers superior load-carrying capability.

I haven't really looked yet, are the axles/hubs plainly marked regarding who they're made by? The hubs are all the same, same bearings, same seals, same sizes and same adjustment. Don't mix types of grease and buy a brand name that is made specifically for wheel bearings. The real issue is that the bearings are cheap Chinese of variable quality, if you want quality, install Timken bearings.

I do have Dexter EZ Lube Hubs. My replacement grease will be Lucas Red N Tacky. Thanks for the replies, this matter is closed for me.
