Helo, I have a 2006 40 SKS I have been messing around with the generator getting it working new carb etc ... I replaced fuel line back to about a foot from the tank. The line had a hole it - I found after filling up the tank for the first time. ugh !! So I did the ol vice grip trick to keep most of the fuel from running out on ground. Where I pinched the line with the vice grips collapsed the line inside. So im going to just drop the tank and replace the rest of the line.
Is there anything I need to watch out for when dropping the tank ? The fuel pump doesnt work or I cant figure out how to make it work.... would be nice to empty the tank out before dropping it but it is what it is ...
Thanks in advance

Escalades are well built and tanks are tanks...inlet, outlet and vent hoses. Would imagine the tank is strapped in and could be lowered using a floor jack if supported properly. No smoking:)

Fuel pump issue could be a not so obvious switch. Typically there is a switch near the pump, and another one inside the coach. This keeps your gas safe from thieves and vandals. Also, look for "hidden" fuses at of near the pump or outside switch. As far as dropping the tank, the tank itself is heavy, the fuel doesn't make it any easier, so get a good floor jack, and if possible bolt on a piece of plywood to the jack's platform to spread the load. That fuel is going to want to slosh around and slide the tank off the jack.
