Last month in TX the temp dropped to 9* and I was able to keep the inside at 70 with the fireplace and the heater. I have two vents in the dinning/kitchen on my G353RKT on in the bath and one in the bedroom. Seamed like I was not getting much heat from the floor vents so I pulled the wall to see if the vents had come off (again) no they wer in place with one not seated into the heater so there was a small gap. I reseated that vent and found a blank in the heater. Light bulb, add another vent in the living area!
Here is the mod with the wall pulled:
The hole had a knock out
4" hole drilled in the wall to the living area upper shinny vent tube
Vent attached to heater, yes lots of tape, it won't come off.
New vent into the main living area
She shed? Dog House? Nope my dear wife helping get er done.

Great idea! We’ve noticed that the bedroom and bath stay much warmer than the living area, which has only 2 vents. I’ll check to see if mine also has a vacant port in the furnace. It wouldn’t be too difficult to duct in another vent near the steps. When we bought ours I really thought the electric fireplace would mostly be for looks, but it’s amazing how much heat it puts out.

That extra vents just left of the steps going up. You will need the piece the fits into the heater I had to go on line to find one. I have a spare if you go that route and a spare vent. I used the one that best matched the wall I put it in. I ordered the darker vent as I was going to put it into the face of the step. PM if you are interested in the parts I have.

My baby has 2 heat pumps in the A/Cs, gas heat works but burns a lot of propane, fireplaces work OK, when it gets cold ( in the day, we supplement with a buddy and that thing works great.
