Hey folks, has anyone added a generator after the fact to their Gold? I have a 2019 356RLT and I think it may even be pre-wired in the front cargo bay but not sure. If so, generally how much are they $-wise and can they be installed DIY? Thanks

Adding a genset in a non factory prepped coach (all wiring & fuel stubbed, compartment lined, vented) is a big job. Unless you are very skilled, it isn't a typical DYI job. Aside from the wiring (A/C and start-stop), the genset compartment needs to be lined with sheet metal & various venting cut. Then we have the question of fuel. Gasoline is only practical if you have existing fuel supply- usually found in toy haulers, so you have the added task of plumbing propane to the genset.

Thx for the reply.

It would be nice to have it built-in. I have read many posts and a few guys will build a rack to put in the factory receiver or off the frame for a generator. I didn’t as I pull a boat so I’m using the hitch. I’m not getting any younger so I bought two 2100 watt inverter generators and a 50 amp parallel kit. Two smaller generators was easier to lift into the box of my truck. They run everything I need to in my 2021 Durango HT D250RES.
