Good day all. Anyone have any storage advice? My unit will be stored outdoors. Should the roof vents be left open a little? It's been mouseproofed. Any reason to use those portable dehumidifiers? Should the tires be on boards? Many thanks folks. Re-Tired

Here in Ohio I have never used a dehumidifier during storage. Never seems to be a problem. If you get snow, leaving the vents open at all will let the snow in. Also, any large amount of snow needs to be remove using a ladder off the side of the RV and a push broom. Just be careful around the plastic covers and vents. I do park on boards, not sure if that is necessary. I do cover the tires to protect them from the sun. Make sure there is good air flow under the RV so the mositure coming up from the ground can get away. Mouse proofed or not moth balls on the ground under the RV to help keep the little critters away. I used a cover one year, don't waste your money. The wind will tear it up in a month.

I also do not use a cover. I had read where some people had the gel coat damage from the cover flapping over the same spot on the RV in the wind if it is a little lose. In my case, I don't see enough benefit to chance it but there are a lot who do use the covers and they would be the one to talk to. I do park our 5er on 2x8 boards at home partly because I heard it was better for the tires but mostly to help distribute the weight so I don't get sink holes in the blacktop from all the weight. I do the same with the jack legs also. I keep the roof vents closed and do not use a dehumidier but on nice days in early spring I will open the windows to air it out. I have been doing it this way for 7 years and so far never had any problems.
