Noticed the Durango FW don't have 12v tank heaters, at least not that I could see. How is cold weather camping without them? I don't mean 6 feet of snow but below freezing for a few days.
Thanks

I haven't camped in below freezing temps for more than one night but they do have one heating duct blowing into the belly to help prevent freezing. Not sure how long that will hold up the temp under severe conditions?

I have camped in cold weather, 18 predicted tonight. The KZ tanks are up under the floor and all the insulation is below the tanks. The inside heat is also pumped in the basement, mine has a separate vent down there. Not sure if you have cold weather camped before but if you have not, either disconnect water and run off your tanks or get a heater water hose. The valves for the tanks are up under the belly wrap so they are also protected. The 3" pipe outside should be empty so no freeze issue.

Thanks, never cold camped before, Florida native. We'd like to experience some colder weather ,not crazy cold or for long time, couple of weeks maybe. Didn't know if heated tanks were a deal breaker, looking at the D321rkt love the floor plan.

That D321RKT is very similar to my G353RKT and we like wise love it. I'm in south central NM but the weather nation wide is below normal, going to be a warm night only 32. Another option for the cold weathers a heated water hose about $100, I have one and carry it when there maybe freezing weather. .

I am getting ready to install tank heaters on my 3 tanks. It’s a big project but it will pay off in the long run. Alaska bound.

Often times, if a CG is open in the winter, they'll make you turn off your water and disconnect your hose at night, to prevent the hose bib from freezing, even if it's "protected". My brother ran into this a couple weekends back. Lyle

My brother ran into this a couple weekends back. Lyle I'm in TX now and they asked we run off our tank. I have a heated hose and carry a heat tape, I wrapped his stand pipe and faucet, he has not said a word, temps been as low as 9 and no issues. Done with the cold here, west bound Monday looking for some warmer weather.

Since you're protecting the CG by what you've done, there's really not much they =can= say. :-) Supposed to be 71 here, today. :-) Lyle

We're getting ready to leave for South Texas as we speak. Had a couple inches of snow here this morning with a high of 36. If it hadn't been for some unforeseen health issues we would have already been there.

Thanks So I have been doing maintenance and had the wall out to check flow from the heater vents. I knew there was a vent from the heater into the wet bay area but what else did I find for the first time? A vent line running through a hole into the tank area, so no 12V heater but the gold has two vents below the floor line. Planning on installing another heater vent into the front of the stairs to the upper level. There are two vents in the main living area both near the back of the area, the new will give me one in the center of the RV.
