We have a 2021 301RLT Durango and it is in storage it came with 2 x 110 watt solar panels tied in series for an output of 220 W . I really don’t know anything about it the panel inside says auto when we bought it and I haven’t touched it . I went and check up on it I looked at the panel on the outside it had a picture of what looked like a battery flashing . My first thought is the battery is weak . Just to let you know I am in Ontario , Canada and we don’t get much sun in the winter . Should I pull the battery out and put it on a trickle charge or will the solar panel keep the battery up . Is there any setting that I should put it on .
Thanks for your help I really appreciate it

If you can easily get to the rig while in storage, I'd say to bring a ladder, climb up and clean off the panels. Unless you think you're spry enough to get up on the roof and clean them. Not sure if the batteries will charge on solar if the disconnect is OFF, but that would be a concern. I know that neither of my rigs would charge on shore power if the disconnect was off. If that's the case, I'd go ahead and pull the battery(ies), take 'em home and put them on a maintainer. Lyle

Thanks for your reply laknox I have left the battery disconnect on . If I disconnect the battery is there away of turning off the solar panels

Thanks for your reply laknox I have left the battery disconnect on . If I disconnect the battery is there away of turning off the solar panels I have zero clue about this. I'd ask both the dealer as well as KZ directly. Don't forget to give them your VIN. Lyle

Well, slap me if I'm wrong, but it seems that to get 220 watts, the panels should be wired in parallel... am I messed up?

Mine has a Xantrex charge controller "30A MPPT Solar Charge Controller" mounted in the battery compartment above the partition shelf. The control panel inside the trailer allows monitoring and setting of all charge controller features from the panel. I downloaded the owners guide from Xantrex for both the charge controller, and for the Xantrex Freedom XC 2000 inverter/charger that my trailer came with. These documents are invaluable in understanding all of the settings, parameters and functions of both of these units. There are specific instructions in there for safely removing/installing batteries with live solar panels. Please READ THEM.
