M winterizing my 387FLF for the first time and just curious on the amount of antifreeze I should expect to use. I have used 4 gallons for the waterlines and dishwasher. Still need to do fridge and the ice maker as well as add to tanks and traps. Is 5-6 gallons the expected amount for doing this unit?

You did not drain and bypass the water heater. I use air to blow out the lines and did two RV's with a gallon. Your filling the water heater so 10-12 gallons, two max using anti freeze.

I follow pretty much the same program as Edd. Blow out the lines, then I pump in a gallon of antifreeze to protect the pump and nearby plumbing, a second gallon goes down all the traps.

Tankless water heater. No tank to drain but You have to put antifreeze through the coils because you can’t get all the water out. Or so I’ve been told. But I think I have figured out the problem. I didn’t remove/bypass the water filter in the fridge. I have run probably 15 glasses of water from the dispenser and it’s still clear. Pulled the filter out a I’m getting pink into the filter but not out. Tasted the clear water and it tasted like crap. I’m thinking the filter is filtering out the pink. Maybe??? Thoughts??? Gonna leave the the pump on and connected to the antifreeze jug overnight and see if the ice maker isn’t freezing. If that’s the case I’m good I assume.

Gad you found the issue, I was sure you were filling the hot water tank. I have zero knowledge on the tankless other that a member here put one in, and it came back out.

I didn't think you were supposed to put anti-freeze in the water heater? On my last trailer I had been told to shut off the valves to/from the water heater and drain it. With those valves off, I would then run the anti-freeze through the lines.

I use 2 gallons, 1 1/2 through the fresh water pump and 1/2 gallpn for the sink and shower traps. This is after bypassing water heater and draining and flushing it , and draining water using the low point drains.

I’ll use 2-3 gallons for my Durango D250RES. Antifreeze is way cheaper than repairs so who cares if I use more than enough.

Like others have said, I drain the water heater and fresh tank, open the low point drains, then blow the lines out and pour anti-freeze in the traps. Takes less than a gallon.

I as well like others, I drain the water heater and fresh tank, open the low point drains, then blow the lines out, put a gallon though the pump and pour anti-freeze in the traps. Safe Travels Chuck
