Hi to all the KZ family. Im a new Kz connect se owner. I guess I qualify as one of those board covid time impulse buyers that I see you folks posting about lol. I have to say, I agree with you about there being several short time owners. The cost of ownership is certainly higher then I expected.
Im hoping that having the front cap replaced after 3 months will be my biggest issue. When I first saw it while out camping I thought I caused it but after getting it home and looking, the top side of the cap was pulled away from the edge trim and there were no scrapes or damage to the roof. The shop said that the cap was installed crooked. The good part even though it took awhile to get the new cap, all was taken care of. Only flaws were a few missing screws and a sloppy job with the sealant. After reading a few other posts, Im calling my repair good. On a different note, I'm curious how you keep the wiper seal flipping out against the slide like its suppose to versus staying partialy folded under itself. I know the wiper is just the first step in keeping water out but Ive read too many horror stories on the slideout leaking and would like to keep all lines of defense intact.

Have you tried "Slide-out" seal spray conditioner? Your rig is new and maybe really doesn't need it so maybe just a slight alignment adjustment?

That is what I was doing when I noticed the wiper issue. I will have to watch and see if the same side has the problem when opening the slide. If its an adjustment issue, I guess the side not flipping out would be to tight pinching the seal while the slide is opening?

I made a wooden yard-stick kind of thing to make the seals mind... It will make the seals do what I want without step stool/ladder. It is about 5/16" thick and 60" long... Just sayin'

Sure, I could see that seal geting weak from flipping in and out over time and needing manual assistance just not quite so soon.

The wiper slides against the slide side, treat the seal & wax the slide side, maybe just a good cleaning. I use a car was with wax built in and have little trouble with my 2017.

Thank You, I will give waxing the slide a try. The wipers have been conditioned.

Thank You, I will give waxing the slide a try. The wipers have been conditioned. The wipers need some friction to flip, waxing may not work but I still wax mine for finish protection. Always move the slide the full distance, in or out, to give the wipers the best chance of flipping.

I have considered adding some friction tape to the slide to add a bit of grip for the wipers but wanted to get some advice from folks who have had slides and have worked with the seals. It isn't a problem I've seen mentioned much.
