Just got a letter from Thor saying the propane regulator is going thru a recall. Said the rubber seal does not meet standards. Told to only use propane when with the trailer and if stove shows unsteady flame or if there is a smell of gas to discontinue use of propane system. The proper fix is still being determined and they will notify when a fix is chosen and will notify dealer at that time that the unit needs the issue addressed. They expect the repair to take under a half hour... I'll update when I know more.

Yup recall goes back to 2017. I just ordered a new regulator myself because I have a week long trip coming up. The problem is the parts to replace the current regulator are not available. Auto changing regulators are not easy to find currently.

Please share what you purchased and where from. I might do the same and if/when they come up with the replacement at the dealer I'll just keep it as a spare. Thanks, Zarth

Hard to find, pretty much out of stock everywhere. But - search for "Enerco Propane Auto-Change High-Capacity Two-Stage Regulator" at Gander Outdoors or Camping World. 10% coupon will work and free shipping.

Thanks, Zarth recall linkI got it at Blains but they are showing out of stock. I started to wonder how many BTU's we will need it to flow as the one I got does not have a huge max flow. Of course that is plenty because the heater is only 30,000 and we plug in so we are using mostly electric. The Enerco one at Camping world that is available has a max flow of 400,000 and I think the OEM one had a max flow of 325,000 BTU's. I am not sure how much of a difference this will make. From the little bit I know my KZ Connect has 30,000 BTU furnace, The stove top is 21,000 BTU, Water heater 12,000 btu, griddle 11,000 btu and oven I am not sure. Any expert on gas could you please chime in.

I am not an expert on LP, but the instruction / information sheet for the Winntech 6020 lists a BTU rating 210,000 I did manage to grab a replacement from CW, got "the last one" according to the guy who found it in the back room, so they are out there.

Well I pulled mine off and noticed the tag hanging on my mine showing 400K BTU just to add to the confusion. I guess I will call KZ.

I emailed KZ on this. Please read it is very important if you are changing your regulator.
The only requirement on BTU's is that the regulator is rated to supply to the total BTU's of the appliances. I believe that we used high capacity regulators in the past. Attached is a copy of the Winn Tec specs. And yes the Camco will work as would a Fairview Fitting regulator.
DO NOT USE; Winn Tech, Win Spec, Flame King or Mr Heater by Enerco.
KZ -RV will requires photos of the replacement regulator when you seek reimbursement.

amvince, Thanks for checking with KZ and providing the info. I sure wish KZ would be more precise, and Enerco as well. It is true that the Enerco #73766 and #73836(G) have been recalled as they are just the Winntec 6020. Here is one source of the Enerco recall info - www.consumeraffairs.com/recalls/enerco-and-mr-heater-propane-regulators-recalled-090121.html . If you look up those model numbers, you can see that they are just Winntec 6020's. Enerco has said they will "replace the propane regulators with high capacity regulators, free of charge.". I assume this means they plan to replace the recalled model numbers with the high capacity regulator Enerco model F173846 (CW/Gander 126286) available on Camping World/Gander. Would be nice if they would say which model number they plan to use as replacements. So, KZ says do not use Mr Heater by Enerco. But there are several Enerco model numbers, and only 2 of them (and then only certain mfg dates) are known to be affected by the defect. I believe the high capacity Enerco may be made by a completely different company. And, it is currently not part of the regulator recall. Everyone involved (RV mfgs, Winntec, Enerco, etc.) should be more precise about model numbers and date codes of the affected units rather than throwing out blanket statements to not use this brand or that brand. Update: Here is the NHTSA recall for the Enerco/Mr Heater regulators: static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2021/RCLRPT-21E071-2246.PDF . It lists all the part numbers and mfg dates involved. Enerco is replacing the recalled regulators with part number 73836. It does seem to indicate that part number F273836 is also involved in the recall (not listed with part numbers, but listed in the description). Enerco confirmed that number F27836 is part of the recall. I see the part number for the unit on Gander/CW is F27846, and that is not part of the recall. This is the part number I received when I ordered it from Gander.

Finally got a response from Enerco. The regulator still being sold at Gander/CW has been recalled, so do not buy F173836 (CW/Gander part 126286).
Sorry, scratch that. The regulator I actually received from Gander is Mr Heater part number F273846, and this regulator is not part of the recall. On the website I had thought it said part number F173836. It may have, but now it definitely shows as My Heater part number F273846. I am keeping it and putting it on the trailer.
