We have an '18 but haven't received any notification. I guess I need to see what model regulator I have & just do it myself, last thing I want to do is go to a dealer, especially since I have already replaced the pigtails.

I just received the letter yesterday. The regulator is the Winntec 6020 Two Stage. Units that were manufactured with propane regulators by Chen Fong with date codes N17 xx, N18 xx, N19 xx, N20 xx and N21 xx By the way if you are trying to buy one so you don't have to haul yourself in to a shop good luck. The self switching regulators are few and far between. rvbusiness.com/nhtsa-issues-its-latest-lengthy-weekly-list-of-rv-recalls/

My brother just checked mine, and it's a WIC Model 6020. I've sent my VIN and a note to KZ to ask.

My brother just checked mine, and it's a WIC Model 6020. I've sent my VIN and a note to KZ to ask. Lyle Same thing here. I will do the same. But since I have little faith in anything from China (products, record keeping) I will probably start a search for a replacement regulator. If when I bought my coach the dealer asked for $250.00 extra to not have any junk Chinese components in my coach, I would have paid it. Are you listening KZ? Nice option to offer prospective buyers.

I've been in contact with KZ and, ==according to my VIN==, I fall outside the window. I did send a pic to them, but the tank switch lever was covering the date code, so will have to get another pic.

We got a letter, but the regulator on our trailer is a Camco. I'm reading this one isn't much better, though. And ours isn't working properly, we had already decided to replace it.

I emailed KZ on this. Please read it is very important if you are changing your regulator.
The only requirement on BTU's is that the regulator is rated to supply to the total BTU's of the appliances. I believe that we used high capacity regulators in the past. Attached is a copy of the Winn Tec specs. And yes the Camco will work as would a Fairview Fitting regulator.
DO NOT USE; Winn Tech, Win Spec, Flame King or Mr Heater by Enerco.
KZ -RV will requires photos of the replacement regulator when you seek reimbursement.

I replaced our regulator because I have zero faith in Chinese manufacturers keeping accurate records as to when production issues start / stop. I have no idea why KZ says not to use those specific regulators, as the one I used (Mr Heater Enerco) has a BTU capacity of 400,000 BTU, VS 287,500 BTU for the one I removed. I too had also replace both pigtails due to leakage.

I have been gong around and around with KZ about the recall. I have 2018 Sporstmen LE toy hauler. I never recall notice even though my date code is N17. I even sent them a picture of the date code. They told me it was in the recall range. It's been weeks of back and forth emails and phone calls to KZ. At first they told me that I should have received the recall since my trailer was in range according to the NHTSA 21V-426 report (my model was listed and it showed n17 through N19 date codes). I asked if they could resend the notice. They could not send me another notice. All I heard was it was sent and if I didn't receive it, it probably got lost in the mail and to take my trailer to the dealer and have it replaced. I called my dealer and thy told me they were still awaiting word from KZ about how to handle the recall. Pushing KZ further, I was told to replace the regulator and hoses at my expense and they would reimburse me. After trying to find parts to no avail, I asked KZ if they were going to send regulators to the dealers. I WAS TOLD THAT KZ WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE TO REPLACE THE REGULATOR SINCE THEY DID NOT MAKE THEM,and it was up to the dealer to find one. After further emails and phone calls to KZ, the CSR told me my unit was not in the recall range and that the N17 was taken off the list. They sent me a copy of the KZ safety recall notice (Safety Recall 21V-670, Safety advisory (KZ-2021-05, dated Oct 22, 2021). This notice shows production dates of Mar. 01,2018 through Aug. 27 2021 and the date codes N18, 19, 20, 21. Now I am told KZ will do nothing since my trailer was built in Nov, 2017. Looking at recalls from other manufacturers, Jayco and Grand Design. still shows the N17 date code. I feel KZ is just making up false reports to limit their liability. I have been in contact with NHTSA and am waiting for their reply. I am asking if anyone that did receive the notice from KZ to contact me through the messaging tab on this site.

Gwinger, please keep us updated on this! Lyle KZ is still refusing to replace my regulator with the N17 date code, even though they originally told me they would. I di not get a recall notice, but KZ told me that they sent it out to me. An email form KZ to me shows it was mailed with my name, address and model of trailer. They also refuded to resend the recall notice to me.
NOW they say the date of manufacture is not included in the recall, even though the date code on the regulator falls in the recall dates. KZ is telling me that by the manufacture date is now not included even though the regulator date is.
Doing more research I've found other companies that still recalling ALL regulators with N17, 18, 19 and 20. I've found two recall reports on the NHTSA website that shows 2018-2021 units with these date codes are in the recall time frame. I have filed a complaint with the NHTSA. I sent them pictures, the same ones I sent to KZ, of the regulator date code and emails from KZ stating my 2018 Sportsmen LE is not on the list, even though the recall report generated by KZ, shows it is.
According to the NHTSA is is up to the manufacturer to report the recalls and/or change them. Seems KZ did make the change for certain 2018 models with the defective regulator.
The NHTSA is doing an investigation now.
KZ did a turn around in midstream. Probably to save having to replace regulators on older models to save money. I wonder how many other defective items KZ is not reporting

I never received any recall and it's too late for us. Our 2018 Spree burned to the ground last week. We saved the clothes we were wearing, some traveling cash, and managed to get the truck disconnected. We were planning to live in it for the next three months so we had a lot of stuff with us; along with gifts for grandkids and such. Kind of a bummer. GD

Hope your insurance it taking care of you. Stuff can be replaced. The truly important parts were saved! Any clues as to what happened? Lyle

I'm not real sure what happened other than the fire started at the refrigerator. I had theorized that the main regulator was providing propane at an overly high pressure and now, having heard of this possible recall, I'm more convinced this was the issue. The cookstove quit; the furnace quit, but the fridge was still working. Plainly it was not working as it should though. Any replacement will have a simple, single regulator, with a pressure gauge. I will switch to the other tank, manually, when it runs out. The impression I have, in retrospect, is that the over pressure delivery caused the furnace and cookstove to shut down as a safety measure when their regulators were being fed at a pressure which was too high. Not understanding this, at the time, I made the assumption that the fault was with the appliances when it was actually (probably) the primary regulator which was at fault. With the regulator turning into a melted blob, there is no way to be sure. Our winter holiday plans have certainly changed quite a bit! GD
