We have a 2019 356RLT which for the most part has been trouble free. We purchased it from a dealer in Tacoma, Wa. and have brought it back every year for an annual inspection to keep the "forever warranty" in place. This last February, while the rig was at the dealer for this service, the dealer called be and said that the passenger side living room slide roof was bowed down and the wiper seal was no longer touching it. The quoted me $1300. 00 to rebuild the slide roof, and because it was 1 month out of warranty, they said KZ wouldn't cover it. I wrote a letter to KZ my self explaining the situation (had to reschedule dealership visit due to snowfall, or would of been in warranty time) and to my surprise, they actually covered the whole job. The trailer was at the dealer for 1.5 months and while it was there they also replaced some slide seals on that same slide. When I picked up the trailer, I was stupid and in a big hurry, so didn't look it over like I should have and just towed it home. The next day, I went out and opened the slide and and I checked the upper seal that they had installed, and it was 90% ripped off the wall. They had only installed it with staples and most of them had pulled out. Called the dealer, and he had me drive it back down there the following week. This time, they installed screws in the seal, and it seems to be holding, but now the slide really catches at the top when retracting it. The bottom of the slide will go in about 6" before the top moves, and then it breaks loose, and shakes the whole trailer as the top of the slide catches up with the bottom. I was going to have them look at it again this year when I take it down there. The other issue that I just noticed today it water. When I extended the slides this morning, there was water on the flooring below where the slide sits when retracted. I cleaned up the water, and I have a space heater gong inside now, to dry our the carpet that is wet. This is the same slide that the dealer worked on. The slides that they didn't touch are dry. I'm concerned that I believe that this is the same dealer that Chuck had issue with with his slides leaking. I think I caught mine early, as we have just had some serious rain in the last week, but I'm looking for advice on how to fix this. The seals should be new from last February/March, but they did a lot of work on the slide roof, and it's like the slide needs to be adjusted now or something. For now, I have the slides out, and a space heater running. Also, I was always curious why the original slide seals would be worn and torn in 2 years. I do keep them lubricated. Thanks, Rick

First question: Is the slide room roof now flat? If they bowed it up the other way the slide will catch. I would compare the spacing from the top of the slide to the opening on this slide to the others, that will give you an idea about the adjustment. You can also compare slide seal type and spacing to the other slides. Adjusting a slide room is to complicated to detail here. So here is a link to Lippert's tech page for slide outs. You will have to do some research to determine exactly what slide out model you have. link

KZ stepped up and authorized the repair, now they need to see what they $paid$ for! They should put pressure on the dealer to step up and get it right! If left the way it is structural damage is certain.

I left the slide out all night in the rain because I was concerned about it leaking while retracted, and we had some strong wind and rain last night. Seems to have stayed dry over night. They definitely bowed the slide top up a little. Their work order even says that they were going to leave it slightly crowned. I was afraid that this was the issue. I also did have a look at the slide vertical adjustment and it is adjusted all the way down. Don't know if it came that way, or it's something the dealer did to try and alleviate the top of the slide catching. Either way, I think that I need to contact KZ about this, since it was repaired as a warranty claim.Hopefully, the 6 or so months since the "repair" occurred doesn't come into play. Rick

Went out and looked around with the slide in and out. I have found some warping of the wall, just above the fwd end of the passenger slide. This is the slide that they worked on, and the one that sticks at the upper end when retracting. Also found the slide attach strip on the same slide is pulling away from the slide. Looks like screws have been ripped out of their anchor point. What in the world would cause this? I can't help but think that this is all related to the slide work the dealer did. I had no issues, including no leaks with this slide before they worked on it. Rick

You needs to find someone that has a clue about repairing and adjusting a slide. The current worker needs to find another line of work.

Crown the roof? If I am looking at your picture right, that isn't a crown, it's a peak. It's no wonder the slide is tearing the seals out. Contact KZ, find another dealership, these guys don't have a clue.

I have the same year/model and have the identical problem, i.e., bow in the middle of the living room slide which collects water. The other slides are flat and never have a pool of water on top after a rain.
We have water pimples on the inside walls on that slide. We bought ours used in a local sale and the previous owner says he has no idea where the pimples came from. I'm sure it's because of this bow in the top of the slide and when the slide is retracted the seals don't squeeze all the water away. Not sure I want to get this fixed at a dealership based on the mess Newbie RV'er went through. I've been going on the roof and making sure the slide is dry before bringing it in. Haven't had to retract it when it's raining yet. That's another story I'm sure.

If I had to do it again, I'd just live with it. I did the same as you before, just swept off any water on the slide top before retracting it. I had them "repair it" and now, all kinds of problems. I would put a slide topper on it if I could, but can't because of the awning in the way. I'm thinking of just removing the slide awning which we hardly use anyway. Still can't put a slide topper on the kitchen slide because of where the fridge vent is located high in the slide. Why would KZ put a slide topper rail there of if you cant install a slide topper?
Yesterday, I did contact KZ and they had me send them pictures. They also said that they wanted me to call the dealer who did the repair and let them know that their repair failed, which I did this morning. I have a 1/10/21 appt to bring the RV to the dealer for hopefully, warranty work. I will keep KZ in the loop during the whole process as I will probably need their support. Rick

After watching the video I saw the seals inside sticking. With the slide partially out treat the seals inside the RV, if you hear a pop when you open the slide those seals are sticking. You use the same seal conditioner inside & out, spry and wipe excess.

The seals were sticking a little, so I lubed them again, and the same issue occurs with the sticking and popping of the top of the slide. My belief is that when they slightly crowned the top of the slide, they over did it a little, and now the slide catches on top. The slide is adjusted all the way down (not by me) and it's still happening. KZ was very supportive of getting everything resolved. I have an appointment to bring the rig to the same dealer in January, so hopefully everything gets resolved then. Rick

Well here we go with Tacoma RV an bad workmanship an seal repair, they have cost me $7k in floor an wall repair an as stated in my other post Kz didn't step up to the plated even after they an the dealer both said seals looked good .... When I bitched that water was coming into the trailer when closing the main slide the Service writer at Tacoma RV said tilt the trailer before you close the slide to let the water run off before closing the slide ... When we picked up trailer the Service writer tied to put the blame on us for all the water damage an bad seals, I said your the people who told me they were ok three years in a row ... If I could have went back to the Kz rally this past year they would have gotten an ear full but the trailer was at the dealer getting 7k worth of floors fixed I tried calling an sending emails to different people at Kz but after a few weeks I heard nothing except they were behind three months on warranty repair, I said i'd bring it to them in three months, that was the last I heard. thus the dealer got the job ... When going to other RV repair shops an ask about repair they stated it would cost 5K per slide, total would be 15k an didn't know how that Tacoma RV could do it for 7 or 8K ... The other thing I noticed when picking up the trailer that there was still screw holes in the floor from the old MorRyde steps, I ask service writer how they could replace a slide floor an still have the old screw holes from the old floor along with the old carpet ... He stated they just lifted up the old stuff put new board under it an glued it back down .... So our complete summer has been wasted this year an the trailer sits closed up in the driveway, oh ya with a convention / microwave that now dozen't work an a dead electrical plug that goes to it Ugh !!! Again thank you Tacoma RV !!!!!! Chuck

I took the DG 356rlt back to Tacoma RV a couple weeks ago to get the slide looked at. At 1st they told me any fix would be at my expense because their workmanship only carries a 90 day warranty. After they got into the work, they decided to cover the repair because they realized that they had created the problem in the 1st place. They had to remove the slide fascia again, and remove some of the "crowning" that they created in the slide roof. This was done because they realized that the slide wouldn't fit into the cutout properly, unless they did.Well now the slide closes smoothly and doesn't catch on the top anymore, but I still have some rippling of the sidewall (above the slide fwd end) and there is water in the wall between the slide fwd end and the entry door, and the water has made it's way down into the floor, which has caused an uneven area (swollen floor?) just inside the fwd of the same slide. Tacoma RV said that they could repair it of course buy cutting out out the damaged sidewall fiberglass, and splicing in a new section, and also repair the floor. They absolutely are denying any responsibility for the water damage though, so repairs would be at my expense. I am absolutely sick to my stomach over this, and am not sure which way to turn. I am waiting on a quote from Tacoma RV, but in the mean time, have brought the trailer home. I did put a claim in to to my insurance company, hoping that they may cover it minus my deductible, but I think that the chances are that they wont. What has me so frustrated is, I brought the perfectly good RV to the dealer last spring just to keep the forever warranty in place. They ended up messing up the slide, they replaced the seals on the same slide, and they resealed the roof as needed, and 7 months later, I discover all this water damage. I don't know which way to turn. KZ said they wont touch it. Is it possible to sell the RV this way, obviously at a discount? Would a dealer take the RV in on trade this way? It's in excellent condition in all other ways. Or, is there a reputable repair facility out there who can fix the issues?

Sounds exactly like chuck here on the forum and I believe it's the same dealer. He had the forever warranty and they replaced a seal, then he found water damage in 2 or 3 of the slides, repair bill was about 8K.
