Question, does anyone that has a residential refrigerator have dual 12v batteries installed? On trip to Florida last winter we got to our campground and put slides out but needed to bring kitchen slide back in. It would not work, said "error" on panel. Long story short Lippert says that slides need full voltage to operate, We plugged in to shore power immediately on arriving. After being plugged in for about 4 hrs tried it and it worked perfectly. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if dual batteries would solve. Have not had problem since but heading to Texas this winter and don't want a problem.

IMO, if you're going to go with dual batteries, go to 2 6v batteries. Can get them at Sam's or Costco. Only need to add a crossover cable between + and - terminals for a series connection to make 12v. Also, when I'm setting up, and we're in a CG with hookup, the =first= thing that gets done is plugging into the pedestal, even =before= unhooking. (For me, this is =very= rare, as we boondock a lot more.) When I'm not in a CG, I leave my trailer plugged in to my truck, and my truck running, while leveling and putting slides out. Lyle

I have a residential frig and dual deep cycle RV/Marine 12v batteries. The extra battery is huge when it comes to running something like a frig on battery power when traveling. On my last trip, my dual batteries kept the frig running for 10 hours+ and both batteries were down to 12.2v and quickly recharged back to 13+v when I connected back up with shore power. I did have both batteries drain down on me in storage once when the 120v outlet I was connected to had tripped and I didn't know it. Beauty of these marine batteries they charge back up and there's no real damage to the battery like a regular lead-acid car battery that can be damaged and won't hold its charge very well when its been drained down a few times.

I also have a residential frig and two BIG 12V AGM Lifeline batteries (210 amp/hour each). So big that only one would fit in the battery box, the other is in the basement ... but that's OK because AGM doesn't off gas and never needs to be serviced.
I will say that AGM Batteries and LiPo's both need upgraded converters (battery chargers). I have a Xantrex TRUECharge 2 60 amp that has a special charge cycle for charging and maintaining AGM batteries. The "standard" converter is pretty low end.

Dual batteries are key to any of these rigs due to their sizes and all the gadgets in them anymore....

We recently purchased a 2021 G391RKQ. Added a second battery (AGM) connected in parallel to the original. That arrangement retains 12vdc, but provides more amperage for longer life which is is very helpful with the residential refrigerator.

We had a second battery added and it works well. Never had the fridge warm up. My tow vehicle has two batteries and two alternators. That may help as well as far as charging the RV batteries.
