Anyone else out there dealing with this recall? Has anyone had it done successfully?
This recall is an engineering error that causes the trailer to tow so poorly it is dangerous! We are still waiting for repairs; fix is to move the axles back. Recall was filed June 18, letter to us was postmarked August 12. When I contacted our dealer on August 18, they knew nothing about it. Now it is October, we are afraid to incur personal liability by towing a trailer that in bad circumstances may become uncontrollable, so our brand new trailer is sitting in the driveway and we aren’t camping. Hopefully parts will ship this week so the repair can be scheduled.
I am so disappointed with KZ in their handling of this issue. I’d like to hear if other owners have had the repair done and if it even works.

Just Purchased a 272FK, we love the TT, but tows horribly, I thought coming from a Class A motorhome, is this the way TT tow. I told my wife it just feels like there's not enough tongue weight. I was going to go to the dealer this week and see about adjusting the hitch or something. Then when I checked out this group, here's your post. I like you called my dealer and spoke to our sales person she said "let me check with my manager and I'll get back to you". She called back in about five minutes and said they had heard nothing about it, and the service manager would call me first thing Monday morning to setup an appointment to get it taken care of. Now as you stated the "fix" is moving the axles back 7.5 inches.... WHAT!!!!! how do you do that? or add tongue weight... how do you do that bolt on lead weights? No thank you, buy it back ! I can't believe they aren't notifying the dealers and they are selling these things. This really sucks, should have kept my Winnebago. Keep us posted bjillbb and I will do the same

We purchased a 2021 272fk last April. Went to Myrtle Beach State Park in August. The trip from our house to the park is 75% interstate. The camper was all over the road at any speed above 55mph. What should have been a 5 1/2 hour trip turned into a 7 hour trip. By the time we got back home I was thinking the only places that we would be able to go camping at would be the local Kroger parking lot! When we checked the mail, we found the recall notice from KZ. We contacted the dealer and told us that he was waiting on the repair directions from KZ. It took about a month before he received the approved repair ( the repair had to be approved by the NHTSA). Dropped the camper off on a Friday and they had it ready the following Thursday (they had 5 more after mine). Ours was the first one they did so “we will measure everything 3 times to be sure it’s perfect”. I had a R3 hitch already so they had to readjust the hitch to the new tongue weight. The installation looked really good (new spring shackles, new trim on both sides, and nifty new side markers to cover the one hole left on each side that was exposed when they recentered the wheel skirts). We towed the camper up to the mountains for a weekend (some interstate driving) just to see how it handled. I am happy to report that even at 65 mph, windy, and getting passed by semi’s, the camper towed wonderfully. Kudos to the service department at Maxie Price RV (lots of phone calls back and forth for updates, and a lot of patience on their part- grumpy customer!) The only complaint that I had was that KZ wouldn’t return phone calls or answer emails. Their Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired. But we are back camping and feeling a lot better about pulling our KZ. The passenger brake pedal has finally been retired!

We just got back from our first long distance camping trip (Myrtle Beach State Park) about 350 miles and interstate about 270 miles of the trip. It’s our first outing after having the recall completed (moving the axles back 7.5/8 inches). We have a R3 WD hitch with the built-in sway control. The camper towed wonderfully even at 70+ mph. Ran 65 most of the way and even with passing and being passed by semi’s we experienced no issues at all. I was a bit apprehensive at first but after the first 45 minutes up I-85 but after that it was smooth sailing the entire trip there and back home. My hats off to both KZ and Maxie Price RV (my dealer) for the wonderful job on fixing this issue. I have no qualms going anywhere in our 272FK now. A very enjoyable trip and am looking forward to many more. Just a quick shout out to the KZ dealership in Myrtle Beach and their outstanding service department.
