Most of the problems you will find will be with things that K-Z has no control over, such as appliances, air conditioners, etc. As far as K-Z is concerned and the way they make trailers, I am on my second one. I had my 2007 for 10 years and never had any problems. My current K-Z is a 2015. The K-Z part of the trailer is very solidly built and I have no issues with the K-Z part. As nvguy said, check other brands and you will find the same things being said. I don't think you will be disappointed with a K-Z. Are they perfect? NO, none are, but they are built good. Good luck with your purchase.

I have friends with other brands of RV's. They all have issues from day one. A good local dealer would be best, but not always possible.
We have had issues. Most of the time it's minor and I fix it myself.
I've had a intermittent water leak from the back side of the water inlet/valve arrangement. Thought I had it repaired but it started leaking again this weekend.
Rear ramp door is bending at hinge line. Have a new door waiting at dealer. Appointment next week.
Kz has always been responsive to my calls maybe not right away, but always called or emailed me back within a few days.

I purchase a 2018 sportsman in august 2017. Brought it home and been parked since. Been getting it ready to do some traveling soon. Can not get the trailer brakes to work.( NOT TRUCK OR PLUG ) Was setting out side by it one day ,saw critters coming from the underside of it. crawled under to find that the whole underside is not sealed along the frame. It has the cold weather package also.So it has insulation in the floor. The whole length of the under belly is just setting between the frame blowing in the wind. Where All the utility cables that enter the trailer for the slides are all half ass sealed if at all. Where the tires sling water from rain is just some kind of really thin crap like the cheap china tarps. Hows that going to hold up? it wont! The electrical junction box in the front for lights and battery supply to the coach is nothing but a inside junction box for a house. The manual says its a water tight box. Not true! Moved the 3 slides out they were binding. I got under it to find all the slide adjustments were loose, Wife and I finally got them adjusted correctly. Now no more clunking of the slide gears. Point is we who buy new travel trailer expect them to be ready to go. So everyone who has KZ manufactured trailer better look them over good. Oh and another thing, it only has 4400 pound axles. and it weighs 7500 empty. Loaded it will exceed GVW! I am seriously thinking of taking it back.Still has over a year warranty. I fear it will fall apart going down the road!!!

Water is the enemy of electricity. What made you open the box? Were you having trouble? I have the same junction box on my 2018 sportsman. The manual says it supposed to be a water tight junction box . That is a inside residential house box. Hows that going to look in a few years? Im going to change my box to a real weather tight box to prevent corrosion and get rid of those wire nuts that will sure corrode fast.

Unless I don't understand, what you described is pretty much standard in the RV industry. Of course the slide shouldn't be loose, but the others things seem to be par for the course. The wires in the junction box are all low voltage and are safe, but yes, corrosion can happen.
Axles will give you 8,800 lbs plus 880 lbs on the coupler, for a total of 9,680 total maximum weight. They may have specified a lower number taking in consideration other elements, like tires or springs.
No, these things are not ready to go, I view them as a heap of materials that needs a lot of work. While it ain't right that products are sold like this, a buyer will be highly disappointed if it is viewed any other way. I had an extreme amount of repairs, modification and additions to make mine usable for me. Others might just accept, ignore or don't know any better. As far as the brand, I have seen better and worse, but never saw anything that was well made.
If you could post photos of those faults, maybe we could see what needs done to make it usable. Maybe they are better or worse than we can imagine.

If you read on other trailer MFG's forms you will see the same thing over an over again. The DW an looked at a number of high end 5th wheels at a couple of shows an also dealers, we saw lots of problems with loos trim, floors that were peeling up, torn chairs an sofa's ... You would think you would have seen none of this in a 90 to 100k units but we saw little of this in our G384RLT when we went thought it ...
Have we had problems yes but they were minor an some fixed by myself an one major fixed by Kz ... I have like many owners changed my "E" rated tires to "G" rated tires for my peace of mine ... After 9000 miles my "E" rated tires looked pretty darn good an showed little to no ware, I changed my pin box to MorRyde 18k pin box because I like MorRyde products not because there was a problem with lippert (LCI) pin boxes ...
There is three major things that owners overlook when buying a trailer, first of all is they get excited in the moment looking at a new trailer, even the season RV owner will have to admit to this, not they will ever do so ...
The next thing is that they do not do a good PDI, taking their time, checking everything twice an even three times, marking down things an asking tons of questions ... All of us have to admit that even after doing a great PDI an taking out time we have forgotten things once we have taken the trailer home ... It's sort of like leaving on a camping trip, you always forget some, it may be minor an most time not major but 99 percent of the time you forget something ...
The last an most important thing is that buying from a dealer who will support you when you do need service an hold your trailer for weeks or months on end waiting for so called parts ...
I am sorry that some owners are having problems, as i said we all have had them one time or another, an yes there are lemons out there in 5th wheel, motor coaches an TT just like there are in trucks an cars ... If you read many of the MFG's forms you will see that Kz is not the only MFG that at times puts out a bad product, but they seem to have far fewer in numbers than the others ...
Safe travels an happy Glamping

Was the noise a ratcheting sound? Mine make the ratcheting when it starts to open just like the noise when the slides closed. If it was what adjustment have you made to stop it?

The KZ service guy came out last Thursday. He spent 2 hours verifying everything I described to him. He did fined that the quick connectors for the brake wiring was faulty at the axles. He cut them off ,hard wired them and the brakes work. I took the quick connectors he cut off apart. I found that ground wires were not pierced to the copper wire. Was disappointed to find only 10 inch brakes are used on this unit.

Clark Glad you got the brakes working, Seems like LCI missed the boat on this one ... I wonder if the guy delivering the unit from the factory told your dealer that the trailer had no brakes, very strange indeed ... I have to ask, you stated a Kz service tech or was it a service tech from LCI or your selling dealer ... Again Glad they found the problem an got it fixed so you can enjoy your unit Safe travels an happy Glamping Chuck

Hi, i just biught a kz spree escacape 196s 2016 And when i open the awning i see the left (motor side) Head moving side to side is this normal?! Thank you They are never perfect and some movement is OK, you need to make a judgement call and tear into it if you think the movement is too great. If you could post a video, we can take a guess if it is a problem.
