We BOUGHT a 2009 KZ MXT coyote 20 ft Toy Hauler. Went to load our Harley into the back & the ramp collapsed while I was riding the bike up on the ramp. We had to get a jack & some pavers & pieces of wood to raise the motorcyle up hight enough to get the rear tire out of the hole in the ramp before it completely fell through with me on it. Thank God my neighbor was there while I sitting on the bike and balancing it while he was raising it high enough to back the bike safely off the ramp. Has anyone else ever had a porblem with there ramp??

My problem is certainly not as bad as yours!
I have a KZ 38' Sportster 5W Toyhauler. I like it very much, except, the rear loading ramp. The Sportster frame is fairly high off the ground but the unit itself has a lower roof profile than the bigger ones. This means the ramp itself is fairly short and is quite steep. I got my 800+ pound Harley in ok, but the first time I backed it out I got a real surprise!! Once the front wheel hit the sloped ramp it just went "swoosh", top to bottom in about a second. I was lucky not to lose it. The ramp has a rubber mat type surface that is slippery like ice. I have tried a number of things to make it more slide resistant but can't seem to fix the problem. Right now I am using 3-M non-skid stair tread strips (like sandpaper) stuck to a 2' plywood strip, but it doesn't really help. The bike is heavy and the ramp is too steep. Scares me to death that I am going to lose the bike over the side one of these times. I actually had the rear wheel spinning one time trying to ride the bike up the ramp into the trailer.
Anyone had a similar problem and found a way to sole it?

We purchased a KZ Spree Escape last year. Since we bought it we have had a lot of problems. We had a blow out with in 6 months then 2 more and a flat. We weighed our trailer with out our clothing or food but including a Honda 2000 3 gal gas a spare propane bottle an EZ up and 4 lawn chairs 3900 lb and this trailer that has one axel and shoul have 2 with the best 14" tires can only hold 3480?! The GVW they show in there specs is 3500?!!!! this would be over weight!! now I will have to change to 15"rims and elevate the trailer some how to accomadate. When I opened the gray water tank the valve broke loose and I discovered that the valve did not line up with the main line it had been forced in place in the factory I had to cut the 1 1/2" line and put in a coupling so I could turn the valve to line up properly!!! We could not get any TV reception with the factory supplied antenna so we spent almost $400.00 to have a good one installed. We had no 12 volt elec. one morning and I found that the very small screw that held the ground on had rusted off. Another morning we had no 12 volt elec. and we found that the in line fuse on top of the frame was full of water!! Our battery went completly dead after 11 months and the battry dealer said it was 2 years old!!

try lifting the nose up with electric jacks this will lower the back and will make your ramp not as steep

Or if it's still attached to your tow vehicle back the rear of the tow vehicle onto some heavy duty ramps. This will raise the tongue and lower the rear of the trailer. Guys do this with lowered cars on trailers. here is another option...

Have there been any issues with paint on 2007 Montego Bay. Our front and back are both peeling.

Tmaniac from what you described seems to me the dealer did not do a PDI or those problems would have been found. Every mfg has issues at times....how they are taken care of is most important.
Jeanne Blackburn...from your post you overloaded the trailer by 400 pounds from the stated max capacity. The tv antenna should have been taken care of at no cost by your dealer...again an improper PDI... as KZ uses the most widely use TV antenna. The drain vale issue also should have been corrected by the dealer before delivery. As for the battery....that is supplied by the dealer not the factory. As for changing tire size and ratin....be VERY careful as you might be overloading or exceeding the axle capacity in your loading of the trailer. You bought a very lightweight trailer.
Again I don't care who makes your trailer these things happen....but the DEALER should have found and corrected them or repaired under the warranty.

MRT I had the same problem with the front brake not holding and sliding down the ramp. What I do now is get the rear tire on the ramp and then put the bike in 1st gear and use the clutch as a rear brake you can just let the clutch out part way to slow your descent, along with the front brake you will be able to controlled your speed.

We bought a brand new 355 Durango 2500 in 2014 and have had nothing but problems from the get go. First time out, the convertor went out. From there its been all down hill. Water leaks up the butt. Slides leaking, pipes leaking, air ducts falling down. You name it, we have had it. Been to Indiana twice, and still not fixed. Getting a lawyer and gonna sue for selling a lemon. Can never get ahold of anyone at the company. Never buy another one.

2016 44' KZ Venom 4013tk Toy Hauler - less than 6 mo old. (frig caught fire, front jack pops and won't hold pressure, awnings won't roll up correctly, microwave doesn't vent to outside, garage toilet leaking, control pad (tablet) never worked properly, freezer freeing up after 4 wks of moving in full time, switch on bed in garage sporadically works etc. Took email to KZ executives to get a response going from KZ customer service. Took to Terry Vaughn RV in Spring, TX. WORST PLACE EVER!!!! I can't write all the things they have done, but one I will mention that royal chaps my behind is that the staff went thru my RV (mind you I'm a full timer) found my remotes to the TV and sound bar and then found where the sub was and I'm assuming played their music in my RV. No repair was needed to the TV or sound bar so why the hell would you go thru my personal stuff to find the remotes? You can read my full report which is still on-going at pissedconsumer.com. And believe you me...I'm a pissed consumer. More so at Terry Vaughn RV than KZ. All I can say is post your reviews everywhere you can and keep fighting for what is right. Otherwise the mfg and RV repair places will take advantage of you every change they get.

Lots of these problems I see is not with Kz but with the MFG of the appliances that were put in such as microwave Frig and hydraulic jacks, none of which are made by Kz ... As for the Op that had people going thought his stuff, I agree this is not what i would want and i sure would have talked to the owner of the Dealer about such along with the service manager and would not return to that dealer ever ... Allot of this should be blamed on the dealers PDI but also the the owners PDI, when we did our PDI I twisted and turned everything a number of times, ran slides in and out, lifted and an set hydraulic leveling system countless times before we signed on the dotted line ... As far a slippy rubber and a ramp, I have had horse trailer for years, they have rubber on the ramps, we would put wood strips across the ramps so the horse's would have something to push against when wet ... Every time I have called customer service someone has always answered the phone, I have fiends on this site that have called an always gotten an answer or if not a least a call back in short order ... Every MFG has problems, read the different site and you will see many post regarding such, I'm not talking low end TT or 5th wheels, we are talking high end stuff, most can be fixed under warranty by the selling or a reputable dealer ... Believe me I am not jumping on the people here that have problems, they are real but most can be fixed one way or another ... Happy Camping Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck

Water is the enemy of electricity. What made you open the box? Were you having trouble?

Water is the enemy of electricity. What made you open the box? Were you having trouble? Making my own PDI hehe... That box seems very odd to me. To be in the elements like that. Water dreeping on top of it from the front of thr trailer. No water proofing or at least deflecting. Decided to take a look. Glad I did. I will go ahead and solder and heat shrink the connection at the axle as well. I remember pointing it to the salesman, but he was clueless, and a bit pissed that I knew more them him on the subject!! Hehe

WoW another salesman doing a PDI, makes me wonder were there techs were, I also wonder what type of service you would get if they didn't have time to get you a tech or repair the problem you pointed out Good call on soldering and heat shrinking the connections, every time I do anything to do with outside wiring on these trailers I do the same Safe Travels & Don't forget about the Kz Rally this Summer Chuck

Every manufacturer has issues. I would be lying if I told you otherwise, a lot of issues should be found & fixed during the PDI, which apparently a lot of dealers find just to difficult to do, and having been in the industry I find that very troubling, there is no excuse. End result is the success or failure of your purchase depends a lot on your dealer, so make your choice with the dealer in mind. Search around the internet, see what people are saying about your dealer. Also, check other manufactures sites, you will probably find a similar amount of issues. If you find zero issues, I would suspect some "moderator editing". For the record, with our coach I have fixed one water leak (at the water heater inlet), and replaced a propane pigtail. Other than that, after 4 trips, totaling 20 nights we have had zero issues.
