I have a 2018 270thle that has the 20 foot Solera Smart arm awning with the 63 inch mounting brackets. I am trying to get the exact model number for this awning. KZ customer support has been worthless. First they told according to my VIN my unit had a Carefree awning. I actually sent pictures of the awning to them and was told their records were WRONG. They then sent me model numbers, who knows where they got them, for a awning that was not a Smart Arm. Again they said their records showed that model. Then told by KZ to contact Lippert, which I did, and gave them the number KZ supplied. These numbers did not match any Lippert Smart Arm awnings. Lippert told me where to find the model tag, surprise, the tag was missing, must have been removed by KZ. If anyone has the 20 foot Smart Arm, I would appreciate being contacted. Lippert said the model tag is located on mounting bracket on the drive motor side of the awning, under the plastic wire protector. This part just pops out. The really strange part is I was sent a recall notice from KZ about a problem with my awnings control buttons. They had enough information about me owning this awning to send the recall notice, but now have no idea what awning I have. The recall listed my Vin number.

Bet this wouldn't have happened in the pre-Thor days.

Bet this wouldn't have happened in the pre-Thor days. Lyle Problem is, my trailer was built late in 2017, sold as a 2018. I think that was before Thor. When I questioned the so called Customer Rep, I asked if they had any kind of build sheet that the factory used when the trailer was built. I was told they DO NOT have anything like that. She said they build the trailer and then fill out a form showing all options installed. She sent me a "copy" of some hand written, illegible writing. Half of the entries were left blank.

Thor bought KZ and Jayco in the '15/16 time frame, IIRC. Lyle

Thor bought KZ and Jayco in the '15/16 time frame, IIRC. Lyle Thanks. Still doesn't mean that KZ should have such poor production standards and customer service unwilling to help. The rep said she she would contact Lippert about the awning, and then reversed course and said she talked to upper management, which I doubt, and they are the ones that said nothing could be done.
Hate to say this, but they are falling into the same customer service routine that FR has. "You bought our product, now you're on your own." BTW, Lippert has been more than accommodating trying to help me. They have sent numerous links to awing models and links to parts. KZ needs to follow suit.
