Hi guys I’m new to the forum but have an issue with wet insulation under the trailer near both front compartments of my 2017 spree escape 196s. When I cut into the underbelly insulation I found carpenter ants just started to set up shop to make it worse. I cut out all of the insulation in the front third of the trailer and sprayed and bagged it up to get rid of the ants so that’s cared for. Now I’m left wondering why and where the water was from. I had just washed it and we’ve had a lot of rain but not when we were traveling so it’s not not road splash. I’m thinking the either compartment doors are leaking or perhaps it’s leaking from around the windows and running down the wall. I’m going to re caulk the entire rv but am wondering if I need to do around everything on the roof too or are the vents and ac unit usually sealed for the long term. Any ideas on the leaks and any suggestions on reinsulating the underbelly? I also noticed some factory seams let go in the underbelly tarp in other areas so it looks like the cheap tarp material needs some patching too. Any help/product recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I just went threw this with my 2012 196s, both sides of front storage the insulation was wet and floor was rotten and full of carpenter ants. I ended up taking the hole floor up under there and replacing it. As for insulation i removed all the insulation under the trailer and sprayed it with urethane foam. Foam is expensive but helps i work in insulation for 34 years so boss gave it to me free. I think the insulation got wet on mine from the under belly cover because i didnt see any water streaks running down the walls.
