This is gonna sound strange. When you buy your rig, normally the deal may install your plates. KZ provides this plastic plate hanger on the back of the right rear light. The light is "sealed" to the fiberglass meaning you cannot remove the lense w/o damaging either the light or the fiberglass. If you were to zoom in closely, it appears as though someone from either KZ or the dealer "attempted" to remove and gouged the surface. So I am stuck with this condition. How am I to mount my license plate to this? You cannot bend the plastic sufficiently to put use wrench from the head yet the plastic cannot support the torque and load of a locknut. You also do not want a head protruding and marring the surface. I would go back to the dealer but the they mucked up so much already on this that I am better off just taking care of things myself at this point. I may be better off using a dremmel and cutting this off and installing some sort of mounting kit on the receiving hitch bar.... Would like some ideas as I've already exhausted mine. Attachments:

We installed plastic plastic nuts an bolts on our plate holder but it was a little more beefer than what you have an even then I was very careful of bending it to the point it might break ... Since we have a older Durango Gold (2017) I believe they may have put better holders on the units then, maybe not or we were just lucky ... Also remember that if you change the position of the plate holder some states require the rear plate to be lighted which brings up a whole new problem Safe Travels Chuck
PS: an after thought is that you might put a very small strip of Velcro behind were the bolts would hit thus proving a cushion an providing some protect for your trailer wall .... when i small strip I mean half the velcro strip not both sides ....
