Question for anyone. My 50 amp plug plugs in to the 4 plug service. The other end into the RV has 3 female. Are the ground and neutral combined before the RV? On the post side round is ground, left and right are 110 hot and bottom is neutral. So why 3 are going into RV?

The side of the inlet and the side of the cord end are the ground connection. There are four conductors, three use the blades and then the ground as explained.
