Has anyone had any issues with putting a rear bumper hitch receiver on their rv to carry bikes?

did it a few years ago, bikes wanted to bounce around a lot, according to friend following me, and I had them locked to the carrier in about 3 places. There is a lot of leverageforce back there.

I did it for eight years on my other camper. However I did run a strap to the frame on each side from top of carrier to help with the bouncing. I had two adult and two kids bikes in it. It also had a nut welded on it so I could tighten the slop in the receiver. I did this before belonging to a forum and reading about the failures. New camper has a factory receiver hitch welded on the frame now.

I'd love to see someone build a bike rack, or even a cargo rack, that sits on parallel links and has a shock(s) on it to help smooth out the ride.

Any racks put on the back of an RV should be RV approved or you could face some serious leagle action if a bike falls off due to the rack breaking. RV approved racks start around $350 depending on weight carried. Love the E bikes. but they don't come on every trip

Does your Durango receiver hitch have a class 3 rating? Asking because ours shows 300lb tongue weight which I believe is a class 2. Not sure if we should take a chance on a rack that requires a higher TW rating than we have. Sounds like it’s working for you so wanted to know if your rig is class 2 or 3. Thanks.
