My old diesel class A had a Aqua Hot tankless system which ran on diesel or electric. Ot took a couple of minutes to warm up but we never ran water to warm up. Very different from this system apparently. We just signed papers and waiting for all thre prep to be done. But now I've got concerns that this will not perform quite like that of a normal tankless heater you install at home. KZ doesn't put any info on the web site on brand, no set up info, no schematics, so frankly it's a little concerning when you spending so much on a rig then you cannot find the consumer info. Did KZ run tests on water performance during boondocking to ensure sufficient water flow would turn on the water heating? What about the dishwasher? It requires hot water but if it didn't have proper pressure then no hot water. If it takes minutes, then you're also not getting clean dishes. What about laundry? Same scenario? Some boondockers turn off and on water to save in the shower. That does seem to turn off the heating. What has KZ done in the design to mitigate these situations?
Thanks

bubbajames This link kzfamilyforum.com/thread/3589/on-demand-hot-water refers to the on demand water heater an may not help you but I would have thought that the dealer would have some idea of who made the dish washer an how it worked good bad or indifferent .... I would be very careful when doing your PDI an have the dealers RV tech or whom ever is doing your PDI test drive it during the PDI ... Please Don't let the blow you off, have them show you that it works, how long it takes, if it get the job done, again don't take we can't because etc etc etc .... Remember once you leave the lot you may not be able to get any service done for weeks or months even thought they will tell you different Safe travels an good luck Chuck PS: also ask who can service such if you can't get into see them, you know the old story, your 1000 miles away an need it repaired Ugh !!!!

I can answer a few questions for you
1. Did KZ run tests on water performance during boondocking to ensure sufficient water flow Short answer is NO. they more or less trust the MFG to provide such ... 2. What about the dishwasher? Short answer is NO. they more or less trust the MFG to provide such ... I can say our dish washer works well an has all the time we have owned it ...(more than likely I put the kiss of death it it now Ugh)
3. What has KZ done in the design to mitigate these situations? Short answer is that unless they have numbers of complaints from warranty work Kz figures all is well in river city (Smile)
At the Kz Rally asking different Kz employees at the top do any of them camp, short answer was NO, but however there are some
of the Kz reps that own Kz products a camp but not many .... There short answers is as they stated is that they let Kz employee take a new model an test it for a week to see what problems pop up ... I had to laugh when I was told this, I stated to the person I was
talking to why not a month an a few thousand miles an then you can see the real truth about a model (Smile)

Why don't they give a new model to an actual RVer, like Chuck, take out for a month, or three, and see how much crap they f'd up in designing and building it? Nah. Makes =way= too much sense. Lyle

Just an fyi that I've received mine and thus far the issue is minimal in using the dishwasher and having issues with hot water.

bubbajames I can tell you we also have few problems up to this past year when when we found de-lamination on the side walls of one of our slides an soft floors on all three slides ...
The dealer that repaired the trailer stated it was our fault for not keeping an eye on the silicone along the bottom of the slide guide rails an pointed out that the silicone alone the side of the trailer an the cap needed to be also replaced an was bad ... So the trailer is 4 an a half years old an I have to replace all the silicone which looks bad on what they didn't replace which is half the trailer....
When the RV dealer called me an the service Tech stated that there needed same problems that needed to be address, I ask
what they were an he stated he would show me when we would pick up the trailer ... If he would have told me an stated he would
show me, if he would have told me I would have said replace such, I was already into 8.5K of repairs what a few hundred dollars
more at that point ...
The only bright point of all this was that I had them replace the water faucet on the kitchen sink, it was covered to the tune of
the wonderful low price of $420.00

$420.00??? Wow! I bought a new residential kitchen faucet for ours for $120 and it took me maybe 30 minutes to remove the old one and install it. I'd say your dealership got paid very nicely for their labor! Jay

I agree, I ask why they didn't go down to ACE hardware an buy one, RV Tech/service writer stated under the warranty it had to come from MFG, so it took 3 weeks to get the faucet from Kz an another three days to install it ...
The other thing that miffed me was they had hit the trailer on the left side of the nose, they repaired such but only used new silicone half way up on the nose seal, RV Tech/service writer stated that I needed to address the rest before it leaked ... I said why didn't you seal the whole thing, he stated that they only repair what was damaged ... I ask for the dealership owner, he stated they were out of town an could not be reached, his boss seem to be not available either ...
As well when we got the trailer home (an I know better) I was again checking to make sure everything was working an ok an found that the micro wave was not working ... Again I called the RV Tech/service writer an said hey the Miro wave is not working, he stated is all the other plugs in the slide working an I said yes but the plug that the micro way plugs into is not working an since you pulled the slide to repair the floor did anyone screw up the wiring going to the micro wave plug ... (What I didn't tell him was that I had checked the plug an it had no neutral side) His comment was well we didn't do anything to the wiring an if all plugs on the slide is working then something is wrong with the plug, sorry we have no appointments for another month if you want to bring it back but we will have to charge you .... I said don't bother I will send you the bill for repairs !!!
The DW is writing a letter to the better business bureau an we are talking with a lawyer over this whole deal in regards to repairs to service an the way we were treated, what good it will do who knows, maybe it will help other down the road ...

After our 2nd outing I've got more to add and perhaps expand on the subject of hot water... We stayed at a State park where the water pressure was at the marginal 45PSI. What this means of course is that the pressure sensor on the instant hot water sensor may or may not kick in and provide hot water. If other campers are using water then the pressure dips below and you out left "out in the cold"... Even if you turn on your pump, it did not help which kinda irritated me but then again perhaps I did not turn the levels on the water dash board over correctly. When I did have pressure, I got my 10 minute shower w/o any issues. It still takes several seconds to get hot water to the kitchen and thus the dishwasher. Now we've become pretty good at just washing as we go so I really couldn't care less for using it but heck it's there right? I've been giving this rig a thorough shakedown and will be making some other posts regarding this KZ product.
