Anyone had any luck finding a replacement window for the rear emergency exit on a G384RLT? Rocks, lawnmower and glass don't mix well.

I had a similar problem with a side window broken on our trip to alaska in '19, no help from dealer, no help from KZ, but, finally got hooked up with Sandra Berg at Lippert, as i described the window and gave her the measurements, she figured out exactly what i needed, so after spinning wheels with dealer and KZ for 4 months, took just 2 weeks to get it resolved. would have gone to local glass shop but DW wanted the original look. Good luck.

A friend just had a similar problem, except his was caused by thieves. He had good luck with one of our local auto glass shops custom making one and installing it. Might be worth trying a few of your local shops.

Some glass shops can do almost anything. We have a large antique hutch with a missing glass shelve. I took one in and they looked, said it was special glass, water cut and it could be matched but it would take some time. Bottom line they did make a match but it was not inexpensive.

The wife was mowing the yard and found a rock. I have an appointment to take it in to a local RV repair shop to replace the window. To get the model number of the window the whole thing has to be pulled out of the unit due to it being stamped on the outside of the frame. LCI can't help until we have the model number and KZ has no record of it as best I can tell. Estimate of window cost is $1200 plus labor to install. No local glass companies will touch it because they can't match the tint color and most don't custom cut tempered safety glass.

I can't believe a glass shop in one of the larger towns can not do this. I live in a small town and took a shelf in from a dinning room hutch. He looked at the shelf, said it was tempered & water cut, made a phone call and said he could get it but it would takes some time. Guess 6-8 weeks he called your glass is here over $100 for about a foot square but it fit perfect.

That's typical of a small town- they deliver service & want to have happy customers. For the shops in the large towns, it's not so much a matter of not being able to do it, they just think they are "to busy" to bother with something a bit out of the norm. When I was in the RV biz I had to "know" someone at a glass shop before they would cut / make windows for the dealership I worked at.

One of the dining room windows on my old Forest River 5er was replaced by a local glass company a few years ago. The tint didn't match perfectly but it was close enough that it was hard to tell the difference. We caught a rock from a truck we met on the road. There was glass EVERYWHERE!

Just an update, we are still waiting on the new window. We did take it to camp with a temp piece of plexiglass. Over 6 months that's just nuts, glad your out and about. We have been out a week now, thinking Pacos TX will be the next stop.. Heading to Columbus NM tomorrow to see where Poncho Villa invaded in 1916, about 100 dead in the "war" and supposedly Villa camped on a family ranch (family story) before the invasion.

Staying down along I-10 & I-20 with the major snow storm predicted tonight in the north part of the state. May catch you out some day, I watch for KZ's in the RV parks.
