I have a 2014 D1500 275RE on the chassis where the leaf springs mount there are extra holes. I think by lowering the front and rear spring mounts down i will increase my ride height. I may need a few more inches when the new truck arrives in a week or two. I'm planning to install a wet bolt kit when i do this, and replace the springs on the passanger side as they have lost there arc. I think the previous owner may have overloaded the trailer a bit on that side.

All sounds like a good idea, but I would replace all four springs & the equalizers when you install the wet bolts. I went with the Morryde CRE3000 & it seemed to smooth things out.

Springs aren't all that expensive. For that matter, entire axles aren't too bad, either. I've read plenty of stories the past 15+ years, about people upgrading their axles/suspension, and it was, to me anyway, surprisingly affordable. Yes, most of them were doing their own work, so the labor costs were their own time. Lyle

I think ill keep my equalizers. I already have the Dexter cushioned equalizers. I have been thinking it might be best to replace all 4 springs.

I also think if you replace springs on one side, you should do the other side also. I dumped the original cushioned equalizer for the MorRyde SRE 4000 with wet bolts, x-factor braces and heavier shackles. If you do reposition the front and rear shackle points lower, you should think about adding the X factor at those points. you will be putting a lot more leverage stress on those hangers. JMHO

We changed out the LCI stuff to MorRyde SRE 4000, web bolts an X cross members, the MorRyde SRE 4000 kit comes with one X factor cross member but I added two more to take the cracking an popping out of the frame when turning sharply .... I also add the Step above sturt assist to the steps an when we bought the trailer I ask them to change out the LCI pin box to a 18K MorRye Pin box .... A fe wod us that have changed out the so called plastic spring hanger insets to the brass MorRyde insets that come with the SRE kit that the old insets were eith shot or close to being shot in less than 12k ...

Thought I would update everyone.... Replaced all 4 springs. Ended up only dropping 1 hole on the frame instead of 2. Between the 1 hole adjustment and the new springs, the trailer sits perfectly level behind my new 2500 Ram.
I upgraded to the wet bolts with the HD shackles, and I replaced the Dexter EZ-flex cushioned equalizers with new, I decided to stick with the dexter ones instead of trying to source the Morryde ones as the dexter's were available locally.
Very happy with the outcome. Trailer pulls nice. Very quiet and smooth.

Thanks for the update. Being able to get parts locally and "now" is an important fact nowadays.

I'd like to add shocks down the road some day (Smile)
