If you used your RV, wouldn't you have designed it this way.... I frequently find items, not just RV's that seem to be designed by Engineers, or Designers, or Architects that never actually "lived" the way they designed it. For example on a CONNECT 261RB, why did you put the electrical outlet right by the sink for it to get splashed and no room to leave things plugged in, like cordless tooth brush, or WaterPik etc. This is how I modified our RV to put 4 outlets on the other side of the counter. Perhaps $40 in parts from HOME DEPOT I just put in RACEWAY type conduit and a double gang on the right side for 4 outlets GFI protected.

It’s stuff like this we talk about around the campfire. Some campers we looked at didn’t have a plug in the kitchen or it was in a stupid spot. I know for me I have a minor beef where they put the front landing gear switch of my D250RES. It’s on the passenger side where it should be on the drivers side. The switch for the rear stabilizers is on the drivers side. They got that right!

No way to manually select 4th gear; you go from 5th to 3rd if you downshift with the stick. I guess they thought us drivers were too stupid to figure that out. Also, that Allie actually has 8 ratios, but was locked in to only 5, then they opened up to 6 until '21. No other change, IIRC, just programmed it to allow 1 more ratio to be used. Another example from my 277RLT. The light switches over the sink and in the toilet have NO wall switches. You have to reach up and flip the switch on the fixture. My wife is 5'4" and can =just= reach them. Our 5 and 3 y.o. granddaughters can't reach them, which means leaving lights on all night for them or one us us having to get up with them if they need the bathroom. Just f'n STUPID! One of my projects is to replace both lights with different fixtures and run wire down to wall switches. Lyle

My brother got the taller wife (she's about 1/2" taller than he is, at just > 5'6".) I'd need a 4' ladder for the kids to reach the lights. :-( Lyle

Great photo, Chris. I remember you mentioned about the added plug in another post, and wondered how you did it. Now that I see just how tidy the install is, I must do this also! Thanks.

Something just occurred to me after seeing the pic again. Why didn't you simply remove the GFI on the left and put a cover plate there, run the wire as you did and put the GFI in the 4-way on the right? Do you =really= need 6 plugs in the bathroom? :-)

Plus for whatever reason my wife prefers to have the hair dryer plugged in on the left as she faces the mirror. And never have I ever, had too many outlets Two cordless toothbrushes, a Water Pic, my cordless shaver for charging .... BAMM Full up!!!

I guess we are lucky in a lot of ways, we have GFI on sink outlets in bathroom ... room to put stuff on bathroom sink ... room to put stuff in bedroom sunk ... outlet next to bedroom sink ...
both light switch on bathroom wall an overhead ... fantastic fan in bathroom ... skylight in shower ... plug outlets on both bedroom walls, on both kitchen walls, next to dining room table an theater seating, on kitchen island, in storage area an outside passengers trailer wall ... 3 different control panels, two that to open an close slides an operate levelers, one to operate front legs to hook an unhook, all inside different compartments or on a wall out of the weather ... an a app that controls all the sides an levelers
Bad points outside porch light switch is on the panel in the hallway an not next to door ... Stove fan outlet is so high you need a ladder to close or open the fan door if it closed... needed to add screws to bed hindge needed to screw an glue struts that hold bed platform when opened to obtain entry into under bed storage area ... theater seating cup holders need slot in them so coffee cups will fit ... shelf's under sink need to be removable ...
Safe Travels

We also have the C261RB. I totally agree with chris RV Living about the engineers and designers not actually using/living in what they build. I haven't had issues with the outlets. The issues I have had are: I can't understand why they would build the valance over the bathroom door slide so the pantry door hits it and you can't open the pantry door all the way, only about 50 degrees. The gas shock that hold up the bed base when you open the storage under the bed pulled the stapled wood they are mounted to loose, on both sides because of poor design and construction. Also, the 12V refrigerator is a whole cluster ####. 1. You can open the door enough to adjust the shelves because of the shelf under the TV. You can't move the shelves in the refrigerator unless you pull it out of it's installation. 2. There is no ON/OFF switch for the refrigerator. If you're working in the camper and don't want the refrigerator running, you have to pull the fuse. 3. The door T-latch on the refrigerator is a joke. First trip we arrived and the door had been swinging open because the T-latch had bent and the door had a dent in the middle from hitting the shelf under the TV. 4. The refrigerators 4 feet sit on a flat piece of plywood and there are a couple of small metal pieces screwed into the frame holding it in place. The frame is breaking from the weight of the refrigerator trying to slide around on the plywood. The design for holding it in place is completely inadequate for a travel trailer that actually gets towed places. My mods so far have been: Shorten the valance so the panty door opens all the way Add a 20 amp rocker switch to turn the refrigerator on and off. Make wedge to fit under the t-latch so it actually holds the refrigerator closed while traveling. Build a little table the same height as the refrigerator opening so I can slide it out onto the table so I can 1. Move the shelves 2. Installed a 20 Amp rocker switch 3. Reinforced the wood frame since it's broken from the weight of the refrigerator trying to slide around on the flat plywood it sits on. 4. Put a 2"x3" flat refrigerator magnet over the dent in the refrigerator door. Glued and screwed the supports back in place for the gas shocks for the under the bed storage. Added a middle shelf in all the over counter kitchen cabinets. Jeff

I had our dealer move the door hinges to the other side.

Grayfox:Owners of a KZ Classic 200 Sportsmen travel trailer. Instead of putting the monitor panel in the bathroom near the sink, it would be easier to use if it was located by the entrance door. Plus it would be safer to keep a power out away from a water source.

I have a 241RLK Connect. No place for the toilet paper holder. So after some investigation I found the bottom section of the bathroom closet is completely empty. I punched out the paneling and ordered a 13"x13" maple door from Menards and also got the stain and hardware to match. I will mount the TP holder on the inside of the door, inside that lower section along with the extra chemicals and TP. I was also a bit perturbed that there was only one outlet in the living area and that was just above the counter on the rear wall, that you cant reach. There are 2 behind the sofa, but unaccessable. Soooooo, I added a breaker to the panel and an outlet to the left side of the breaker panel and another outlet under the counter above the outdoor kitchen. I then cut a hole in the counter and mounted an outlet there, that plugs into that outlet w/ a gfci.
I also went and had all 5 tires balanced. The worst one took 6.5 ounces. People say trailer tires don't need balanced...I beg to differ. Unbalanced tires are hard on bearings, axles, springs, the structural frame of the trailer, and of course the tires. Please do yourself a favor, get your tires balanced. It only cost me $35 for all 5 tires. I immediately noticed a smoother towing trailer.
