I’m hearing from other toy hauler forums that you can only use your patios in fine weather, otherwise they will rot. Is this the same for the Venom?

I have heard that water / rain will damage the ramp doors. I know people who leave the ramp in patio mode during rain storms and don't worry about it.
Personally I close it if I suspect rain. I regularly check the edges of the ramp and the aluminum frame to make sure the silicone is still holding. I also added silicone to the corner seams of the aluminum frame.
I have been caught by a sudden down pour with the ramp open. In that case I put the ramp down so the water can run off.
A friend of mine puts a black plastic sheet down. He cut it so the plastic over hangs the edges of the ramp. Then he has a plastic grass rug on top of that. He again cut openings to fit around the cable brackets. He secures the corners with spring clamps. He also puts a couple of chain couplers on each support cable so the ramp has a slight angle for the water to run off. When it's time to close the ramp door, He just rolls it all up together and stores it away.

I have a protective coating on my patio that is waterproof, it came with the unit. I have had mine since 2016, I use and wash my patio/door, no problems yet . Hope I didn't just jink myself 🤣
