rvdreaming1, On the road with our 8-month old trailer, 241rlk, and our fridge is now not cooling. Any ideas? Thank you! You may have an obstruction, make sure the ducting to the roof vent is clear. If you're in an area where the ambient temperature is higher than what you've been in before then you may need to add additional ventillation to get more air flow. I don't have your model of fridge, but I ended up adding several computer boxer fans to bring additional air flow in and blow hot air out in order to get the proper cooling. Here's a link to a good discussion on your model that'll provide you will some details and things to try. Let us know how it goes. In case the link posted above doesn't work just copy and paste this into your address bar: www.crossroadsowners.com/forums/f25/norcold-n8x-freezer-cold-refrig-hot-15428.html

We had a similar problem, and I think part of it, was how hot the RV was, over 90F. And it really took a long time to cool down. (48 hours) The first 24 hours were not with airconditioning running so inside the RV was probably 90+F, and then once we were parked to camp, it took about 24 hours to get refrigerator below 48 degrees. We have thermometers from AMAZON getting the inside temperature via a thin cable We also read some place that sometimes jumping straight to coldest level freezes coils. This one sounds like FOLKLORE to me, but we tried it on this last trip where outdoor temps stayed above 85F

I was able to acquire quite a collection of freezer packs (my old boss, from NYC, loved to order deli foods from "home"), and I always tossed a bunch in the fridge when doing a first cool-down after storage. Also, I have one of the little blue cube fans that takes 2 D-cell batteries, and I've found that that really helps.
