I have the 12 gallon Suburban Water Heater that was not getting as hot as when I got the 5W. I ordered a new thermostat and a member on another forum told me to check behind the one I had for corrosion. I had already ordered so I waited until it arrived to take it apart.
The corrosion he said to look for, the original thermostat was likely good, I did go from a 130 to a 140 degree.
Check Anode while I'm here, still good for awhile.

Good repair, your anode looks like new. Much better than any anode I ever removed.

Good repair, your anode looks like new. Much better than any anode I ever removed. I learned with my first one had a stem when I pulled it, now every 6 months.
