So we just purchased a new 2013 Classic 250S and really love the floor plan . We actually when shopping found a same sized fancier trailer that was 2k cheaper but ended up buying this one due to the full sized bunks . First day of owning the camper we went straight to some friends to try it out and when we slid the slide out we noticed a quarter sized tear in the flooring that was not there when we inspected it at pickup . I found that the slide was not properly adjusted and it had caused the corner of the sink / stove top cabinets to drag the floor . At first the dealership offered to actually come out and fix the issue at my place since we are about an hour away but then they decided it would be best if we just brought it in for repairs there .
Please understand my frustration with having an issue with a new camper the very first day of use and the dealer wanting to glue or patch the floor to perform this repair . I adjusted the slide myself since it is and easy task and I didnt want the floor to be further damaged .
I still havnt taken it back in yet as I am becoming more and more dissatisfied with this camper due to what happened the next time we tried to use it . We used it the weekend after and actually stayed a couple days in it to really get the feel for it and see what else we could find that was messed up .
Well , the shower , no matter how you adjust the curtain , still allows water to run onto the floor behind the toilet and the only way to keep this from happening is to install splash guards to redirect the water stream or leave the trailer lower in the rear causing an unlevel condition which would affect the fridge . Yes , I checked the level actually in several places inside the fridge and am using that as level reference .
Next issue we noticed is that water was dripping from the slide side , under the trailer at the back of the wheel well so I removed the access panel under the sink that allows access to the slide adjustment and find water dripping from the side of the slide inside the camper and trickling down into the low floor point drain . Well this sux because it is dripping right onto a metal piece of angle that is serving as a support for the slide and it is already rusting from this water exposure because it was never painted or treated . Then I see where the water is actually coming from and it frustrates me the most as I have found out that not only is the AC sitting in a low spot on the roof and the fine people at KZ have actually tried to crease the metal roof off to the side with the slide out to allow water to try and drain uphill . This is a neat idea but what is even more messed up about this is the little gutter that is supposed to direct the rain and condensation water to the front or back of the trailer is actually dipped lower in the middle than the ends so waiter is forced again to try and run uphill . Well the gutter actually overfills in the middle before it can force the water out either end and it drips the water right onto the slide which from there it runs inside the camper and under the sink onto this bare metal and eventually makes its way to the low point drain in the wheel well .
I am SO frustrated with the overall construction of our new trailer that I have half a mind to just take it back and try and get our money back . It is either that or allow the dealer to try and fix the trailer and god knows how long this is going to take , leaving us with not being able to enjoy the new trailer we just purchased .
Did I mention that we have also found there is no valve to drain the fresh water tank ? The only way we have found to do this is by opening the water system drains under the entry side of the trailer and turn on the water pump and hope it pumps it all out .
