I have a 2019 DG 371 RTL and just got a 2021 Ram 3500 DRW 4x4. Anyone towing with this configuration? or close to it. I'm just starting to install a B & W Companion 25K. I bought this hitch for all the head adjustment options it gives you.
I'm a little worried about bed rail space, from just measuring the bed heights this truck is like 2" higher. But I think it's going to squat more than last 2017 F350DRW 4x4. And this truck has more of a rake front to back than last truck did.
I don't even want to think about raising the trailer.
Just check if anyone has this truck towing a KZ similar to mine.

I nave a 2018 G384RLT and a 2020 Ram 3500 DRW 4X4 and a Demo hitch. I have 5" bed rail.clearance. I will measure the hitch head height, this should be a good measurement to use so you can set the correct height of the B&W.

With the hitch head as level as possible, it is about 18.25 inches above the bed. This gives me 5" of bed rail clearance. With a 3500lb pin weight I experience about 2" squat, and a fairly level trailer when hitched. .

Thanks a lot jetzen. That helps a bunch, give's me a good baseline for the hitch head. I assume these trailers all come standard height and pin box settings, (could be wrong). 5" is close, I'd prefer more but it is what it is. I had about 7" with F350. But truck and trailer were both a tad (1") nose high and it rode it real good.
I've always been a little paranoid about bed rail clearance after hitting back in 2006 causing some damage.

I looked up your 5er weight and it's pretty light on the hitch but seems pretty close to my rig. (See signature) I also don't know if there is a big height difference between a 2017 & a 2020? Mine sits a little nose high but not enough to worry about. With all the adjustments you have on the hitch I doubt you'll have a problem.

This is one if the things that really makes me pause in getting another truck as my '02 has my KZ riding level, yet I have 8" of bed clearance, which I need for boondocking. I'd love to just restore my '02 D'max and swap the engine and tranny for an early '07 LBZ and 6-speed Allie. :-) Lyle

After finally getting it hooked up, I sure over thought it. it's fine, a tad nose high but pulls real good. Got a little under 7" of room from bed.

How did you get 7"? I have a 2015 F350 and have 5" with the B&W at it's lowest setting and if I move the pin box down I'll be nose high.

Edd505, I guess it could be a number of things why I see a little more room. Different truck, dually, tire size, a little more squat. I am carrying 90 gals a fuel in the transfer tank, a crap load of stuff in storage bin, washer / dryer. As I recall I'm about 18.5" from bed to flat 5th wheel head.

I did measure at the center of the tailgate top at the back of the truck is 59-1/2" At center of axle looking across the bed is 56 1/2". I'll check those when its hooked up next time. I do know this truck is like 2-3" higher at the gate than my last 2017 F350 4x4 Dually. That truck would squat to a negative height. This one looks dead level.
