We bought our 2012 model in June/12. We had looked at a floor plan of the trailer and thought that the loveseat was a pull out air mattress bed. We were very disappointed to discover that it was a jackknife sofa with a large lump on it from the cushions that making it an uncomfortable sleeping surface for anyone, never mind that it is so short....our fault for not checking up on the specific one we bought, but it was the first of what would be many disappointments for us. We received it with a pot light not working, not realizing the hassle it would be to replace it. After the threat of not being able to get a matching light due to model changes, we finally got the right light at the end of the '12 camping season.
End of July/12-The bunkhouse slide quit working, the main entry door wouldn't open or close properly and rubbed a gouge in the paint(add to it the annoying loud noise it made!!)and the door on the outside kitchen was off center, making it near impossible to close it and it wore a tear in the weather stripping. A 4 hour round trip was needed to return it to the dealership for repairs.
May/13-After following our dealership winterization instructions, we discovered that we hadn't been informed of the one way valve in the bunkhouse cupboard and I guess it cracked in the winter. When we went to clean out the sewage tank, we ended up with water all over the floor. Thankfully, the clothing in the closet caught most of it before it did damage to the floor. A pricey little replacement valve was needed to repair that! On this particular trip, we also were unable to light the oven and use it.The front face of trundle bed is pulled off at the bottom and we suspect in no time, it will be completely off. In addition to this, the snap the closes the trundle has come off and we can no longer secure it to stay closed during travel. There are also loose threads hanging all over the trundle from the upholstery edges....not a big deal, but aesthetically unappealing and as more things are discovered, the little things begin to irritate more. One of the fabric covered end pieces on the dinette frame came loose and threatened to rip off or injure someone if a leg was caught on it. Hubby tried to hammer it in with the tacking provided but ended up having to repair it with screws. Also found cracks in the wood around frame of tv cubby in bunkhouse and vent under fridge. Sliding door to master bedroom has large chunk of wood out of it.
July long weekend/13-discovered strip of lights down center of trailer and outside light weren't working. Checked fuses and breaker, found nothing. Hubby ended up taking off switch plate and discovered the wires hadn't been attached tight enough and they had burnt out and completely melted the murret. He had to fix it. CO2/propane alarm went off when we used hairspray, so for rest of weekend, while getting ready for son's wedding, needed to use spray outside. Also discovered that a piece of counter top trim in the outdoor kitchen has lifted away from the edge.
July 19/13-Indoor fridge is not working on electric or gas. Couple of calls to dealership for trouble shooting ideas didn't help. Strangely, when we arrived at campsite, fridge miraculously started working! At night the propane alarm went off again, and again, and again....opened ceiling vent and all was fine. Never went off during day. Only thing using propane was fridge and it was not showing signs of propane issues.
Although this isn't an issue with something not working or broken, I must add that the placement of a/c vents in the bunkhouse are undesirable as the person sleeping in the top bunk has both vents blowing straight down on them and it freezes them out. I also wonder why the outdoor cook stove is a pullout rather than a swing out? It makes it very difficult to use the limited counter space that is tucked in behind it. I guess these are things we will learn to look for if we purchase another camper.
Half a dozen trips and all this to deal with!!! Dealership wants us to bring it back again....another 4 hour round trip.....this is not what I'd hoped our 1st time camper purchase would be. Won't call down KZ Spree, but feeling we got the lemon in the batch:-(
