We have a 2014 Durango Goldrush Nugget and are very happy with it, and KZ has taken care of us so there it no changing manufactures. Looking at the 2021 KZ Durango Gold G391RKQ, just retiring this will be our last camper, Really like the floor plan, Looking for comments owners of the 391 and why do some have 2 sinks and some have 1 sink, some have 2 hatches under the nose and some have 3 ? Do all 391 models come with solar prep? and how many airs are standard? I look at dealership adds and mostly they just have the generic info from KZ and not the build sheet as to the unit they are selling, which is smart to have you call them. Any info on this unit is good info... And a Hello to all the peopel we met at the 2019 rally,,,, good times Mike & Denise

And a Hello to all the peopel we met at the 2019 rally,,,, good times Mike & Denise First off, let me say that I have zero experience with Golds, other than what I read. When I was shopping a few years ago, I had no qualms about calling a dealer and having them email me the build sheet for a rig they were advertising. Make =d@mn= sure the ad has a VIN posted and compare it to the sheet they send you. If it doesn't match, don't be afraid to call them out on it. You'll usually get the excuse of "our web person just hasn't gotten around to taking that one down, yet." I've seen plenty of the same units advertised for =months=, and the excuse you'll get then is usually along the lines of "Oh, that's on its way to us right now. We should have it in X days/weeks." Yeah, right... Sorry for being so cynical, but that's the way a goodly number of dealers operate. Unless you want a rig RIGHT NOW, don't be afraid to order one. The sad fact is that your ideal rig could be in the next state and, unless you contact every dealer in the country, you may not even know it's there. This is because the mfrs refuse to have dealer networks like auto mfrs do, where you can pull up a nationwide inventory to see what's where and dealers actually cooperate (mostly) to make a sale. So you can get the skinny on all the new models. That being said I believe the current G391 has 2 bathroom.sinks, 3 hatch doors on the front and solar is optional. Laurie and I went to the factory in October we toured a G391. Nice unit. We are in the market also. We are considering a G391 or a G383. We are leaning towards the G383. Sent you a PM.

If you have time and it sounds like you do order what you want. The build will be months so you can order and get what you want. Then you will not need to just take whats on a lot somewhere. I looked at the G391RKQ and if I was buying again the would be my choice, we personally like the rear kitchen. I would keep the table, more like home and see if they could put the "full timers office" in place of one of the hide a beds in the middle. On an RV that large 2 A/C's min and they are now doing some with 3. I like the two hatches up front and wanted to add one on mine. The top one goes to a small shelf inside, I only have access through the side basement doors, the lower is the larger compartment. Not sure where your seeing the double sink, in mine if you got the dish washer you get a single small sink, w/o you get the double in the kitchen. The floor plan shows two in the bathroom, his & hers. Wife said she would not marry some one she couldn't share a bath with. We have a single in the 5W and double at home. Not sure why women need so much more space for female stuff.
Hope your putting the afghan good use in the cold and give Indy an extra pet for us. Travel safe & hope to see you at the 2021 rally. Edd & Lawana

We just took delivery of our 391RKQ yesterday after ordering it in December . We’ll be taking our 1st trip next weekend and I’ll post my thoughts on the unit when we return. Really looking forward to this!

the closest 391 to Delaware is around 2.5 hours away,, it must be the early model because it has 2 hatches in the front and a single sink in the bathroom, we make take a road trip very soon at least to check it out, we also like the G387FLF,,, so may choices,,,

What is thought of pulling a new 391RKQ with a single rear axle truck? I currently pull a 2019 356rlt with my 2014 f350 srw 6.7 long bed ford without issue. I noticed that while the 391RKQ is 1000+lbs heavier than the 356rlt, the hitch weight on the 391RKQ is rated at 200lbs less than the 356rlt. I should be well within rating of the truck (door sticker says 3800lbs +/-. Should I worry about the 42' length of this rig behind a srw tow vehicle? Thanks, Rick

Thanks, Rick While you are most likely 'street legal' - that is a lot of trailer for a SRW. I guess, take it up some steep hills, and down some steep hills, and drive in windy conditions - see how it feels. But, if you can swing it, start planning for a dually.

And a Hello to all the peopel we met at the 2019 rally,,,, good times Mike & Denise The length is not the problem other than it will take up a little more wind, it will pull the same as 40ft or 38ft trailer, or G384RLT in fact pulls better than are old 33ft 5th wheel because of weight distribution ... Your problem is the overall weight of the trailer, yes you pin weight is ok, but how about overall stopping power, you can pull it but can you stop it is the question ... Also a dually is far better in the wind than a single an the newer dually's from what I have heard turn better than the old ones, the other problem I hear is that the newer pickups have a higher bed an a shorter box, no more the standard 8ft bed, the standard is 6ft now, you can order a 8ft but most dealers now have almost all 6ft bed trucks ...
I have to say I see alot of SWD trucks pulling 5th wheel an people claim they pull ok, I have more or less always been a Dually type of guy an if I had my reathers I would buy such instead of a SWD pickup ...

Since I have no desire to pull the really big, heavy FWs, I'm keeping my sights to SRW trucks, with short beds. I do want a 3500 simply because we have a 30' gooseneck that we use, and I want to be able to have more payload than my venerable '02 2500 D'max. Even 2500 handles my 32' KZ with ease and I've not had any issues with winds towing it, despite it being > 2' taller and 3' longer than my old Komfort. In fact, it tows much =better= than my Komfort did =and= I have a measurable increase in mileage. I've driven my brother's F350, dually long bed, a few times, and I'm not a fan. Lyle

I have a 2017 with a listed hitch weight of 2130lbs and I pull it with a long bed F350SRW and I have had no issues in winds to 35-40. The new 391 is listed at 2260lbs so only a 130lbs differance, personally I would go for it.
