What is it hook up to because it is not hooked up to the clearance lights.

If you have the pre-wired camera ready and just added the camera to it, the camera will only work when you have the headlights turned on.

On My Venom the Furoin Camera is wired into the Clearance / tail light circuit. The camera only works with the tow vehicle plugged in and the headlights on. When new the camera had to be linked to the monitor.
I my case the camera and monitor work ok when parked or moving very slowly. At highway speeds its useless as the signal fades in and out. I installed a portable antenna and mounted it on the ladder for a better line of site signal. However the signal is still very spotty.
