We recently bought a 27 ft traveler trailer and was looking for some tips on traveling with it. I am a bit nervous about hauling it and we haven't taken it out yet but we are about to. Any suggestions about interstates, small roads etc? I believe we will be just fine but the nervousness is there. Im not sure how to really hook it up but people have told me at camping sites that everyone is so helpful. So that isn't really a worry for me. So any advice is welcomed. Thanks

Congratulation on your new purchase. We too have about the same size trailer, not bad at all to tow. My husband has driven trailers and large vehicles for years but feels I should be able to do the same should the need arise. We take the trailer to a vacant parking lot and practice turns and backing up to learn how the trailer reacts. If you have access to some traffic cones they are very helpful to learn how the back swings out or cuts in when cutting corners....set them up in a line to drive along side going both to the left of them and right. Also, set them up as a slot to back into if there are no stripes on the pavement, to practice backing into a campsite. I have driven on both local highways/roads and interstates...you just have to get out there and drive....practice makes it easier each time. You will soon be hitching up with no second thoughts. I always help with trailer light checks and a walk around the trailer once hitched and ready to hit the road....this includes an under trailer scan to be sure nothing is left behind or is dragging. Enjoy!!!!!
