Hello, we are having issues with our water heater. It only gets warm, and not hot on Propane, and barely warm on electric any ideas on what could be the issue? Our fifth wheel is a 2021 356rlt, and we have only taking it out twice. First time water got hot, but took forever to heat up, the second time we could only get warm water not hot. We are hoping it's something simple we are missing or can fix. Trying to avoid taking it in for service, since our closest service center is a camping world, and they suck.

If you don’t have a tankless water heater, you should have an on/off switch on the water heater itself. Take off the protective grate on the outside of the water heater and take a look. Make sure the switch is pushed into the “on” position.

You probably have the bypass valve, that is used for winterizing, partially open. Reset the valve(s) to the proper position and also check that the outside shower valves are closed.

Since your trailer is new, it probably has the wet bay located behind the street side basement door. Check to make sure your valves are set to either "city water" or "dry camping". If you're set to "winterize" or "sanitize" it will do exactly what lynmor just said and open your bypass valve.

Yep, I agree that it likely a valving issue.. I had my pump drawing in a bit of air from a bumped winterizing valve... it gave strange symptoms... Incidently, one of the best ways to 'learn the systems' is to have to troubleshoot. Let us know what you find out!

I've heard sometimes if the valves on the outside shower are left open that the hot and cold water will mix so you'll get lukewarm water at the other faucets.
